The Pheasant has arguably one of the most beautiful Country Hotel settings in North Yorkshire, overlooking the duck pond in the picturesque village of Harome. Originally converted from what had been the blacksmith's shop, village shop and barns, the main part of the hotel offers one single and eleven double rooms, whilst in the sheltered courtyard are two suites, Pheasant Suite and Plum Cottage, each with its own private entrance, two further dog-friendly family cottages and the indoor swimming pool.
Services
The Pheasant Hotel in Harome aims to offer the perfect room for everyone - from romantic hideaways to family-friendly 'little homes from home'. Twelve of the sixteen bedrooms are located in the main hotel building: some overlooking the courtyard and others the village duck pond; some with four poster beds and some with sofa-beds for greater flexibility.
We are now fully open for dining throughout the hotel and on the terrace or in the garden (North Yorkshire weather permitting!) We are, however, still operating table service wherever possible and our tables remain socially distanced for the comfort of our guests. Please note that we are currently very busy and we would recommend booking in advance as we cannot always guarantee availability for "walk-ins".
Hidden away in its quiet corner of Harome village, The Pheasant is a very special location perfect for special occasions, and particularly perfectly suited for intimate weddings - from 12 to 80 people! This beautiful, sixteen-bedroomed Country Hotel has stylish, but cosy public rooms for entertaining your guests and great locations for photographs, all in striding distance.
At The Pheasant we are continually looking for ways to reduce our footprint, care for and protect the environment and give back to the communities we are a part of. This approach is integral to how we operate and in turn we hope to demonstrate to others that you can succeed as a business in a natural and environmentally correct way.

This popular high end hotel offers travellers an oasis of calm from the minute they arrive. Situated just outside the wonderful market town of Helmsley, you are sure of a warm welcome from the friendly staff who all go the extra mile to ensure you enjoy your stay. The restaurant is amazing and offers a range of dishes to suit most, however, they are also prepared to offer bespoke alternatives to assist with food intolerances etc. we enjoyed a marvellous evening and are sure to return. Highly recommended.

Outstanding food, service and staff. Relaxed and very enjoyable experience. The staff were attentive and efficient and friendly which made our meal all the more delightful. Beautiful surroundings too.
We had a gorgeous room overlooking the pond. We found a comfortable spot in one of the lounges for an after dinner drink. Heavenly. Here's to our next visit.

We were looking forward to staying at The Pheasant after our friend recommended the hotel & we were not disappointed. We received a warm, friendly welcome from Nicola on reception & then spent our afternoon in… the cosy bar by the fire, all bar staff took time to talk with us & make us feel welcome. Our room was 'Harland' which was perfect! Gorgeous decor, big, cosy bed with a view of the duck pond, lovely Bath House products in the bathroom too & a great selection of teas & coffee. We had dinner included in our stay & both agreed it was a taste sensation, all three

Had a really lovely Sunday lunch here. Beef and all the trimmings except Yorkshire pudding due to being a coeliac. They accommodated gluten free very well with freshly baked gluten free bread, gluten free Peroni and for dessert a gluten free brownie, ice cream and summer berries. Fairly quiet to start at 12.45 but gradually got very busy and was pretty much full by the time we left 2 hours later. Overall highly recommended. Good service, friendly staff and atmosphere.

Couldn't possibly think of a weakness to identify. Warm , friendly staff, beautiful, interesting food which was very well presented, everything you needed in the bedrooms plus little extras and huge beds. We loved our overnight package and were able to sit out in the sunshine next to the duck pond. A real treat.
