Karate is especially great for kids as it builds their focus and concentration as well as developing self-discipline, which improves school grades and behaviour. Children also participate in our anti-bullying and safety awareness programmes. Is best described as a self-defence based mixed martial art.

As far as we know all martial arts started off as self-defence or battlefield training. Karate was no different, you can see through the study of traditional kata this included a wide range of techniques and fighting strategies- including grappling, throws, takedowns, hooks, uppercuts and a myriad of other techniques which aren't practiced in karate sparring in the majority of karate styles.
In an effort to make things fair - the undeserving are often rewarded and worse many feel entitled to what they have not earned. In an effort to make things more convenient - we have developed a culture where we crave instant gratification and the values of work ethic and long-term vision is in decline.
Shinkyu karate's goal is to foster community spirit. Our instructors are not just strong martial artists, but good people, with great people skills. These include the basics of being welcoming, friendly, and empathetic to new students, as well as praising and positively encouraging our existing students.
We are strong believers in our style and in our service, so we offer a FREE 2 week trial to all new students, obligation-free. After all, the best way to choose a martial art is to try it out. We are super confident that you will love our classes.
Once you have finished our FREE trial and you wish to continue we have a simple direct debit fees structure which is designed to help you get the most out of your training by encouraging you to train at least twice per week. This helps you quickly develop reflexive skills that you can rely on and also dramatically improves your fitness.

I've known and been involved in one way shape or form with Shinkyu for a while now, outside of the club! I first met Sensei Jason at a Seminar that he ran down south for us, his knowledge and passion was fantastic and he was an absolute honor to train with. From that point, we competed and got involved with some tournaments that the guys and girls… from Shinkyu ran, once again the knowledge and passion was echoed with the students and instructors at the club. Everyone within the club was so welcoming and kind, it was like being at our own dojo at the tournament. If you're looking for a place

For over a year I watched my eldest daughter train with Shinkyu Martial Arts in her School Club.
When child care circumstances changed with my other (Younger) daughter, the School club was no longer an option, so the choice was to either quit or join another local Shinkyu class. Quitting was not an option... So to soften the blow (No pun!) of not… training with her friends, I joined classes with her... and we have never looked back (That was two years ago).
All of the comments made in the reviews here, positively sum up Shinkyu Martial Arts, so I won't repeat them, but its really something
