Our expert consultant urologists diagnose and treat men of all ages for a wide range of men's health conditions such as prostate problems, incontinence, kidney stones, and urological cancers. They also see children with paediatric urological condition and also women with urinary problems. We can usually offer treatment even if you don't meet the criteria required for NHS surgery and/or a wider choice of drugs or treatments may be available.

This hospital needs to take better communication care with its patients. I recently got moved over there from general for an injury I have. The consultant who deals with my issue is too busy to get back to me with my options. Other than that the staff seem friendly but it just feels like because I am an NHS patient I’m suddenly worth less.

I recently was fortunate enough to have a NHS total hip replacement at Oaks hospital, Colchester, despite Covid. The standard of care from all concerned was exemplary. This includes pre- & post operative nursing, administrative, physio & of course the fantastic clinical team, who enabled me to leave the next day after ensuring self sufficient mobility. Particular thanks here to Mr. Manav Raghuvanshi, the consultant surgeon & operating staff for your skill & reassurance! Thank you so much again to all concerned for your kindness & care 💕

I particularly find the Oaks , MRI & X-Ray desk both extremely professional & caring at the same time. Thank you so much. I can't say I've ever had a bad experience at the Oaks , the neurosurgeon Dr Suresh very good too. Many thanks to all that help make the Oaks at Colchester so professional , helpful & caring.

In according to instruction from the hospital I was to wait in my car till told to deliver my wife for her operation. This I did and on advice I delivered her to the green door where she was taken from me and I drove away.
As a result of obeying these instructions I have now received a charge of £100 for parking. Is this how patients are treated? I`m appalled and have been told that this bill will be cancelled, but this does not alleviate the shock of such a letter. Especially as I earlier received a bill for £500 for treatment which should not have been sent at all as I paid for the whole operation

Although the medical care was probably ok (I have to take their word for that) and I felt a lack of respect and decency during an exam, their accounts department and treatment of patients when it comes to finances is disgraceful. I have private medical insurance with AXA Health and was told I would have to pay £100 excess. I received a bill for £100 from the Oaks and paid it immediately. Then weeks later I get a chaser letter for £50. I ring and say I paid, they discuss with AXA, tell me I owe it and pass the debt to a debt collection agency who then start threatening me 'Icon'. I had partial knee replacement a week ago. From the minute I arrived the staff were excellent in every department. Mr Alam made me feel totally relaxed about the procedure and I can actually say I’m looking forward to when my other knee is done !! My 5* rating does not cover food, I wasn’t expecting fine dining but the food is disgusting and the hospital really needs to sort that out.

A huge thank you to all the team that helped me through my spinal injections this week. The attention to protecting both staff and myself was amazing. The process was like a well oiled machine, from admitting me to the procedure in theatre, aftercare and discharge. Everyone was on their A game and i cannot thank you all enough. I am so very grateful, you all do your very best every second of every day. Stay safe and thank you from the bottom of my heart.
