Services
Referring your patients to a Spire hospital is quick and simple. Our world-class consultants cover a wide range of specialties and our Primary Care teams can assist you to help refer your patients to the correct consultant. At Spire Healthcare we are committed to working with and supporting GPs and healthcare professionals.
Spire would like to provide you with marketing information about products and services offered by Spire and by selected third-party partners. If you do not consent for us to process your personal data for marketing activities, we will still be able to contact you about your enquiry. We may contact you by email, SMS or phone about your enquiry.
There are many different types of back surgery and your consultant will recommend the one that will be best for you, depending on your condition. In some cases, more than one type of surgery will be performed in the same operation. Lumbar decompression surgery is used to treat spinal stenosis, cauda equina syndrome, slipped disc, metastatic spinal cord compression or a spinal tumour, and spinal injury.
Your consultant will explain the different implants available and the pros and cons of each. If they rupture, they're the most likely to spread into the breast tissue - this can cause lumps (siliconomas) and implant removal will be needed. More likely to rupture or deflate than silicone but if they do rupture, they'll safely pass out of the body.
For the operation, your surgeon will put some drops in your eye to widen your pupil and relax your eye muscles. You'll also be given a local anaesthetic. Once the anaesthetic is working, your surgeon then makes a small incision (cut) to the front of your eye (cornea) and removes the damaged lens. This is usually done by ultrasound to break up your lens into small fragments to remove it easily (phacoemulsification).

Just returned home after my second operation at Little Aston thanks to my specialists who were very fast acting. Initially Mr Syed and then Mr Kumar also along with his other 2 gentlemen who performed my Kidney surgery. I cannot thank them enough.
I find all staff at the hospital to be caring, attentive and make you feel at ease. I have no worries now about my third upcoming surgery with them.

Totally let down, my wife initially saw a consultant for a hip replacement on 19th October 2020. It was agreed she needed both doing. 6 to 8 week time frame was given. We had no paperwork sent out so after chasing we had a date of 11th Dec for op. We heard nothing else so chased it up only to be told they couldn't find her on any admissions list.… After complaining she was then 'found ' and told she was on the list for that date. Then yesterday we had a phone call to say operation cancelled until new year. I know covid has had profound effects but taking money for consultation and xrays

Very friendly and helpful staff. Made me feel very comfortable with my hip injection operation. The sad part. I have been let down twice with my follow up appointment with the Dr! The first time my appointment was at 3pm I waited for 20 mins before speaking to the receptionist who made a new appointment for yesterday 23/7 at 5pm. You guessed it. I waited for 25 mins before leaving. 30 mins there. 30 mins back plus waiting around. Some of us do have a life! Why make an appointment if the Dr is busy? Get this part right and you would get 10/10

I was in the Spire Southampton and was given a massive infection that very nearly killed me, The Care Quality Commission report for the hospital is damning. its dirty with cross contamination. I now face a life changing event if the infection cannot be controlled and six months later I am still dealing with the fallout. SPIRE HEALTHCARE have done nothing but ignore and belittle me, their complaints procedure is a joke, YOU HAVE BEEN WARNED. BMI is much safer and cleaner.
