Providing a homely, family ethos of genuine care for each individual child to be happy and comfortable, to learn, to grow, to develop and to progress to reach their potential. Providing our parents with information and support. Providing all our staff with continuing professional development, so they achieve high levels of qualifications in the profession of Early Years childcare and education.

Hi my name is Lynne. I am the nursery owner. I have worked in Early years education since 1988, initially as a school teacher. In 1996, whilst expecting my first child, I made the move to join my parents at Playpals Childcare Centre and in 2007, following their retirement became the proprietor. During this time I have returned to university to achieve my Early Years Professional Status, which I felt built on my previous maths degree and P.G.C.E.
Services
Newborn babies are cared for separately downstairs in our Daisy Room. We have space for ten babies under two, cared for by well qualified and experienced nursery nurses. Our baby room is supplied with good quality cots and baby equipment. Babies are provided with a variety of appropriate simulating toys in a cheerful environment.
The aim of our nursery is to aid children's development in a happy and comfortable environment. We also prepare the older children for school. At our nursery, we follow the Early Years Foundation Stage, with the detailed planned activities designed to stretch and reinforce the children's learning from even the youngest child.
During School Holidays Playpals runs a holiday playscheme in Ruckleigh School Nursery (off Touchwood Hall Close) for up to 24 children aged 3-8 years. Activities and games are provided for children aged between 3 and 8 years. All activities are supervised. Activities include: BUILDING BLOCKS, LEGO, K-NEX, CARS, ACTION MAN, DOLLS, COLOURING/DRAWING, along with a wide selection of BOARD GAMES.
Playpals is open for fun and games at Ruckleigh school in the nursery classroom (off Touchwood Hall Close) every day from the end of school until 6:00 each evening for our "After School Club". Activities and games are provided for children of all ages, so that they are always kept entertained. The children may choose which activity they wish to play with.

A nursery that feels more like a family. I'm an ex-employee, I've worked here and it's been a wonderful experience. The staff are kind, friendly and experienced to take care of children. Playpals is a nursery that cares and is a great environment for your children to develop and grow.

Both of my kids went here and we always found it to be a friendly family nursery. They both learnt so much and enjoyed every minute of it.

I have been to this nursery as both a child and a member of staff. Both experiences have been wonderful, the staff work so hard and are so good at what they do. Real experts and also lovely people. I felt safe and happy there as a child and remember loving the nursery nurses. The nursery has a real warm family feel to it. Definitely recommend.

This was my first job, and what a great setting to start off in. I had the chance to learn alot from the staff and the routines. There is a lot available to help support the development of children from ages 0-3 years

I have fond memories of playpals. It was a warm and friendly environment and the nursery nurses really made an effort to build a relationship with each child.

All three of my children and my nieces went to Playpals. They also were regulars at the after-school clubs and holiday clubs. They talked a lot about the different adventures they had at Nursery and all the interesting things they did every day. The caring and informal atmosphere meant they felt at home with all the lovely ladies who looked after them. I know that as a working mum ( also working in education) I could see the independent skills and the social abilities my children learnt from the gentle guidance of the nursery staff. I really hope that Playpals is still running when I have grandchildren
