Established in 2003, we have taught guitar to hundreds of people from the ages of 4 to 87. Whatever your reason for wanting to play the guitar we can help. If you want to study for formal qualifications, to join a band or just for fun we will show you how. Our guitar lessons are one to one and are conducted by our DBS checked tutors.

A face to face guitar lesson at Andy Stocks Guitar School gives you everything you need to reach your goals. Our studios are ultra modern, brimmed with the latest technology and comfortable. We use iMacs with the latest recording software. We can create any guitar tone in a few clicks with our amazing amp modelling software.

Tutors Report

Andy is our company founder and Managing director. Andy graduated from the University of Sheffield with BA Hons in Popular Music. During and after his time studying, he played in both original and cover bands in the UK and abroad alongside some of the top names in the entertainment industry. Andy's teaching career started at the young age of 16 where he would teach from a room in his parents house.

FAQ's Report

5 years old is usually the youngest that we take due to coordination issues although we are willing to try kids younger at parents request. Please be aware we will refuse to teach if we think that it isn't quite the right time for them and invite you back later. You are very welcome to use one of our guitars in the lesson initially to see if guitar playing is for you.

Andy is a fantastic guitar tutor, certainly knows his stuff and willing to give advice and support on anything you feel you need. The lessons are certainly about you. No only that Andy is easy to talk to and get on with, a 5 star review isn’t really enough

Great music school, with excellent communication.
My daughter loves her lessons. Her teacher is great, she has learnt so much in such a short space of time. He is very patient and encouraging and gives feedback so that we know what she is working on etc.
Most importantly he makes the learning fun and relaxed which she finds a welcome break after studying at school all day.

Andy is a fantastic teacher, he helps the students identify music from their own playlists to learn which keeps them interested, as well as introducing new music. My son has progressed loads, but more importantly has developed a love of learning the guitar that will go with him into adult life. Highly recommend this guitar school

I’ve been having lessons with Andy for a while now and have to say he must have the patience of a saint. He’s listens to your problems and tailors the lessons to overcome them whilst making it interesting.
He’s an excellent teacher who puts you at ease therefore making the lessons a pleasant experience and passes on his knowledge in an entertaining way.
I would have no qualms whatsoever on recommending Andy Stocks Guitar School to anybody who would like to learn guitar.

I would highly recommend Andy or his team to anyone wanting to learn guitar. The friendly atmosphere and knowledge from all the tutors is second to none which is shown in the grades being achieved by the school.
I have tried a lot of guitar schools over the years with differing results but have been attending this school with Andy for about 3 years now so that says it all really. It's generally the highlight of my week when I attend the school so get booked in!!

Whether you want to learn to read music or just play this is the school. They play fair with you which is a must. Cannot speak more highly of the team or the owner.
