Flexible one to one guitar lessons based on your needs as a player. Whether you are a total beginner or you have been playing for just a short time. Lessons are structured to help you to learn the guitar quickly. Once you have grasped of the basics, you can then go on to learn the songs that you have always wanted to play.
If you really want to get serious with the guitar you can delve into scales, modes and the art of improvisation. I even help guitar players to become teachers. Five of my students have become guitar teachers over the years that I have been teaching. Roland GR55 Demo Here I am using A Roland GR55 guitar Synth using one of the many modualted Jazz settings.

Teaching beginners and advanced students I specialise in most styles of electric and acoustic guitar lessons as you can see from the demo videos on the homepage. The videos show playing of a world class standard and I can teach anyone to that standard who is prepared to put the work in. Even post University students come to me for advanced guitar theory.
Every musician is different and so I don't believe in the use of a 'one size fits all' course for learning music. Regardless of whether you're a complete beginner or advanced professional, I adapt my tuition depending on the musician's current level, future goals and musical tastes.
I am a highly experienced performer having worked with some heavyweights of the UK jazz scene such as Julian Arguelles, Jamil Sheriff, Tim Giles and Ed Jones as well as touring and recording extensively on the commercial music scene.

I have known Martyn now for 3 years since retiring and taking up playing the guitar. Before retiring, I had on several occasions attempted to learn the guitar without success finding the process of going through exercises shown in tutorial books boring.
Martyn immediately tapped into my specific wishes of initially learning to play the blues, explaining the pentatonic and various scales and being extremely patient when I find a specific technique hard to master.
Over the years, I like to think of Martyn as a friend and can only give full praise for his skills both as a guitarist and a tutor and

After having a guitar in the house for the past 30 years ,decided I needed help. Been taking lessons with Martyn for a year now and super impressed with my progress and the quality of the lessons. At last I feel I'm making massive steps forward and really enjoying the challenge. Have recommended and will continue to do so. This guys is an incredible guitarist and tutor.

Martyn is an excellent guitar tutor who is patient and very encouraging. He has done everything possible to advance my ability with the guitar. Practising at home seems a pleasant experience due to his use of technology, such as music, video and pdf files. I would recommend Martyn to anyone who wants to play the guitar. Theodora

I was nervous to first meet Martyn as I am with any new person and instantly he made me feel comfortable :) I started guitar from a young age varying from musical notes and theory to tablature and stopped playing after I was 15. I'm now 21 and I wanted to get back in to it, I've been having lessons from Martyn for about a month if not a little over and by god, I'm already ten times better than I was! I highly recommend people to take lessons from him, he is genuine, doesn't overcharge you like some places do and has also become a good friend! Definitely an opportunity not to be missed to learn

Martyn at Mansfield Guitar Tuition has been tutoring me for over 3 years now and he is both an exceptional player and teacher. As a reasonably experienced player I was looking to move forward to the next level of playing and Martyn has and is helping me to achieve this. His knowledge of styles is immense and he will help you to become a better player or learn new techniques in a manner that is enjoyable and understandable.

Having had lessons off Martyn for the past 18 months, I've gone from not even knowing how to hold a guitar to a confident blues guitar player. Martyn has lots of patience and tapping into 30 years worth of guitar playing and knowledge is priceless. I'd highly recommend Martyn at Mansfield Guitar Tuition to any aspiring guitar player.

Martyn has been teaching me guitar for close to 5 years and I couldn't have asked for any better teacher. He is not only amazing in the music department but can teach you valuable life skills. He makes you feel comfortable in his presence, which is an important step in learning. His skills as a guitarist are impeccable and he makes it really easy to follow what he is doing so you can grow and learn from what he has shown you. Throughout my 5 years of being his student he has never cancelled a lesson on me for any reason. He also showed me what I would like to do as a profession and has supported

After playing the guitar for over 10 years with no lessons, I became very narrow minded in my playing and would always play the same things. I called Martyn and sorted out my first lessons. Within 20 minutes (including introductions) he had pin pointed where my playing needed the most improvement. He truly is a great musician. instead of just being able to teach you songs like most other tutors, he helps you to understand them which really does make the difference in taking your playing that step ahead. And his prices are fantastic......! so dust off that guitar, call Martyn and see where the guitar
