We opened in 2015 in the heart of the great little town of Ossett just off the M1 and between Leeds and Wakefield and are now located an the old bank building right in the heart of the Town Square. We are a husband and wife team dedicated to helping you create a fun and memorable experience at Crafty Owls Pottery.
This started as a tongue in cheek joke 2 years ago with Bum-pkins, we were surprised how popular these bowls were. This will be a Bumpkins ONLY session for you to create your completely unique bump print work of art! Babies Only! Join us at our fab, friendly Adults Only Evening; no kids, only your fave drinks, takeaway and pots!
Join our long running Art Classes for adults in the centre of Ossett; Monday morning, afternoon and Wednesday morning classes during term time and Thursday morning social art group. Our classes cater for a variety of abilities in a relaxed and open atmosphere.
Whether you are a total beginner and want to learn how to draw or paint as a novice, or you have some experience but want to broaden your techniques and approach to art, or you just want to come and socialise and draw, paint and share ideas alongside other enthusiastic people, we're sure you'll enjoy our welcoming classes with our enthusiastic and approachable teacher, and there's always a cup of tea and a biscuit on hand for those moments of artists block!

Nice and friendly place and nice atmosphere, nice and spacey but not anywhere near as good as another place I’ve been. I guess it’s what you want from the place. If you want to sit and paint your own pottery then that’s fine. I was expecting more help in getting my babies hand prints like another place I have been, I did call and check they would… help before I went and they said yes they do, but the help was minimal, the lady said that the hand print would darken and show up once finished and you can still barely see it, it’s not properly glazed there are places

I have been to two adult evening and they were lovely and relaxing. Everyone was very friendly and there is no rushing to finish your piece. It makes a welcome change to sit and relax and have a chat somewhere… different. you don't have to be an expert painter and you can ask for help and ideas. I will definitely be back on a regular basis.

We had a lovely relaxing time here, just painting and chatting. The time flew by! Very friendly atmosphere and lots of pottery to choose from (something for everyone). We can't wait to get our pots back! I'd definitely recommend this place to anyone-artistic or not.

My Girls had such a lovely afternoon here. It's so nice to find something for them both to enjoy together (age 16 and 8). Really lovely, helpful & friendly staff. Looking forward to bringing them back soon to create something for Christmas. This could definitely be a new yearly Christmas tradition. Thank you so much 💕

This is the second time I have visited and it was lovely as before. Lovely atmosphere. Plenty of pottery and paint choices. Perfect for any age. I enjoyed it just as much as my 7 year old. We can’t wait to come again (maybe for Halloween pottery) we can’t wait to see out masterpieces next week. Thank you 😊

I went to crafty owls a few weeks ago for the first time with my partner to visit my sister and her husband who both own the shop. I can't believe its took me this long to visit, I had an amazing time and painted a 'flash' duck. I defo will be reccomending this place to everybody. It would be fantastic for any event, birthdays, first dates, taking kids out or even to just kill a few hours. The choices are endless and a good choice of paints. The coffee was one of the best I've had as well. Can't wait to visit again.

My 11 year old daughter went here for a birthday treat from here friend. Unfortunately the staff decided to tell here off for using too much paint!!!! She was painting a rainbow on a mug (perhaps this is too many colours) however it seems that it’s more important to the staff to save paint than to encourage the artistic ability of a lovely shy quiet girl. This upset her and ruined what should have been a lovely day. Completely unacceptable and shameful!
