My name is Tamara Emery and I am a qualified Solution Focused hypnotherapist and psychotherapist, having gained my diploma at Trinity University, Leeds. Originally from the North Cornish coast (via London and Kent), I now live in Leeds with my lovely partner, Gareth and his gorgeous son and my beloved but gorgeously scruffy dog, Busby.

Depression can be crippling. Unless you've suffered from it, it's a very hard illness to put into words. I have struggled with depression on and off since my teens and, in my darkest moments, I have likened it to standing at the bottom of a very deep well and only sometimes being able to see any light at the top - if you're lucky.
Anxiety can be a debilitating and painful thing to suffer from. It can effect every aspect of your life and can suck the enjoyment out of the simplest pleasures. It can also happen to anyone at any time and can manifest itself in many different forms - from butterflies, palpitations and indigestion, to sleeplessness, irritable bowel syndrome and panic attacks.
There are, apparently, over 3,000 different phobias with clinical names. The dictionary tells us that a phobia is 'an irrational, uncontrollable fear of a specific object or situation', but sufferers of phobias will tell you that it feels so much worse than that. Sometimes, for whatever reason, our hippocampus holds templates that tell us that certain things are life-threatening when, in fact, they are not.

Tamara has created absolute miracles when it comes to my chronic pain! She was at the absolute centre of turning what seemed like the impossible into possible, from not depending on a walking stick to climbing up and down stairs! I couldn't believe how powerful hypnosis could be! It's been 2 years and I still use all her amazing tools and mind tricks. Cannot recommend Tam highly enough - personable, kind and the perfect mix of science based approach but with compassion and encouragement. I loved that the sessions are solutions focussed and never thought I would ever be able to change my negative thought patterns and constant worry. I use her techniques daily, have recommended whole heartedly to others, and continue to check in with Tam occasionally when reassurance is required! I am calmer, relaxed and more confident and wish I had met Tam earlier in life!
