I offer personal tuition in playing the electric, acoustic and bass guitar and have a wide repertoire which covers most contemporary styles. I specialise in teaching beginners and tailor lessons to suit individual needs and aspirations. You can learn to play purely for pleasure, or work towards taking your grades.
I have been teaching guitar professionally since 2004 and my qualifications include a Nationwide Music Examinations Diploma of Associate Membership and a BTEC National Diploma in Music Practice. I have an Enhanced DBS (formerly CRB) check and have undertaken training in safeguarding young people and vulnerable adults.

Our Daughter has been having lessons for nearly 3 years with Mark and her progress has been outstanding, she has gone from being a complete novice to currently working towards her grade 5 exam, Mark also is helping her towards her music GCSE. Mark has taught her various styles of music and works at her pace.

My 11 year old has been taught by Mark since he was 9 and is now heading to High School having passed his Grade 3 with a Merit.
Mark's patient and tailored approach to each student ensures that he gets the very best out of each individual. He goes at the right pace to ensure confidence is not knocked, but that things stay interesting and engaging.
I could not recommend Mark highly enough, he has really helped my son to excel at something and more importantly really enjoy learning.

Excellent guitar instruction from a highly experienced instructor. He tailors the lessons to the student's interests, ability and aspirations. He is always patient, kind and encouraging. Always available for advice, he even spent a day creating a very professional mp3 which he emailed to me to help me practice as I was travelling and could not get in to see him. My guitar needed a set up (adjusting) and he picked mine up from home and got it done for me as I was away again. You WILL make progress with Avondale.
