Advance
We're Advance and our story is the story of people's hopes, dreams and wishes. In 1974 we supported four people coming out of institutional care who had a dream of living independently in the community. Back then, our solution was to buy a house on a city street, fill it with furniture, and help them settle in.

We've learned to do things a bit differently over the years. These days we support thousands of people at home and in the community- people who start from a position of disadvantage due to their health or their disability and who want more choice, more control and more opportunities. We're proud that we offer a whole load of affordable options under one roof which means people can pick and choose as they wish.

We are accredited with Supporting People and CQC (Care Quality Commission), and are an approved Prime Contractor for the Department for Work and Pensions.
We are one of several organisations providing support for people with learning disabilities that have signed up to an initiative called the Driving Up Quality Code, to ensure they aim beyond minimum standards to improve the lives of people in their care.

The Driving up Quality Code has been developed by members of the Driving Up Quality Alliance, in response to the abuse of people with learning disabilities at Winterbourne View private hospital in 2011, to ensure this can never happen again. The Code was developed with support from: the Care Quality Commission, the Department of Health, the Association of Directors of Adults Social Services, the Challenging Behaviour Foundation and NHS England.

If only i had known 15 years ago what an appalling landlord ADvance is....
We have made several complaints over tge years but as long as the head of landlord services remains tge same tgere is no hooe for improvement. And now they are doing support as well....../
I shudder to think what that is like. I had such high hopes of this company...
