Thanks for a fantastic time and the breakfast was great so was the room and location staff really helpful I will keep your address and phone number. We found everything perfect for our stay, the location, the large spotlesslylean room, the breakfast was wonderful too. We will certainly return on our next visit to Southsea.
Southsea Castle was built by Henry VIII between 1544 and 1545 to protect Portsmouth against possible French invasion. Its revolutionary design provided for the most efficient use of guns in attack or defence now that artillery dominated warfare. In the early 19th century, the castle was substantially altered to accommodate extra guns and a larger garrison of 200 men.

We have just returned from a 5 night stay here. It is one of the best hotels we have stayed in, comfortable, very clean and excellent breakfasts. A very friendly host and staff and nothing was too much trouble. Situated in an ideal location to everything and easy to find. We will definitely return.

Very comfy. Lovely bedding and interested to see how they had adapted the house. Interesting en suite with his and hers basins and the tub bath. Owner very kindly waited for us to arrive which was unavoidably late

We have been enjoying the hospitality and home from home atmosphere at St. Margarets for 15 years and hope to continue doing so in the future. The en suite rooms are clean and comfortable, the breakfast, which varies daily, is a great start to the day and is sufficient to keep you going all day. Ideally situated, you can walk along the sea front all the way to Old Portsmouth and the Gunwharf, or alternately catch the bus which runs every 10 minutes from the stop 1 minutes walk from St, Margarets. I would recommend, and have done to friends and family, St.Margarets is the place to stay when visiting
