At Silverman Opticians our optometrists can provide advice and treatment on myopia control. Myopia (short sight) is increasing throughout the world affecting about one in three of the US population. A recent Swedish study found that 50% of 12 year olds are myopic, expected to rise to 70% by age 18, with over 80% in parts of Asia.
At Silverman Opticians in London, we have a digital fundus camera for diabetic retinal screening. Patients who would otherwise need to attend a hospital eye clinic for diabetic retinopathy screening can be seen here, privately, at their convenience. Diabetic retinopathy is one of the commonest causes of blindness in the UK.
Low vision aids are devices to enhance vision for those that have impaired vision that cannot be corrected using conventional spectacles. We carry out a full assessment of your vision at the present time, a thorough investigation of the problems you are experiencing, a discussion of your requirements, and then attempt to meet these, using high powered or tinted spectacles, telescopes, magnifiers, lighting and other simple gadgets.

From when you walk in to Silvermans you feel the inviting atmosphere. I normally head for the back desk where I get treated like royalty. The service is impeccable. Everytime I need anything done, whether the nose pads need changing or just an overall clean, it's always with a smile (and free!)
