One room even has it's own private balcony. While the third double can be located on the 2nd floor overlooking the private terraced gardens to the rear of the property.
Located just a 5 minute stroll from the Guest House you will find the delightful Bicclescombe Park with lovely gardens, tennis courts and weather permitting the mill tearooms are open along with a enclosed children's play area.

Also located just behind the Guest house you have both the Cairn Nature reserve with many walking trails of various degrees of difficulty, or stroll along part of the Tarka Trail, which follows the route travelled by Tarka the Otter in the famous novel by Henry Williamson and covers a total of 180 miles.
The well-stocked, cosy lounge bar is open most of the day for drinks, so why not relax and enjoy a drink whether it is upon your arrival, before you go out for an evening meal, or upon your return. If you prefer, and the weather permits why not take your drinks into the secluded terraced gardens to the rear of the property.
Here at Strathmore we are more than happy to welcome your four legged friends, I even have my own in house pooch called Poppy, who is often relaxing in my lounge. She is very friendly so do come and say hello/woof. Dog owners are asked to bring their own bedding and food bowls etc for their pets, however should you forget something please just ask.

Heather was a very friendly attentive host. Breakfast was lovely. Great choices. We had room 1 which had a balcony we could use which we did for the first few days until the fog descended. Plumping rather noisy but a great place to stay compfy bedand within walking distance of Ifracoombe.

Really enjoyed our stay. Heather was a warm and generous host - nothing was too much trouble. Tasty & varied breakfast. Comfortable bed - slept really well during the four night stay. Wouldn't hesitate to stay again or recommend. We stayed in room 5, which has a view/immediate access onto the back garden.

I was unexpectedly in town and looking for a simple room for the night. Instead I found a beautiful Victorian house with comfortable rooms and a very warm welcome. I slept like a baby and the full English breakfast was lovely. I would heartily recommend it.
