Injection moulding is the process of injecting molten thermoplastic polymer into a cavity, in a hardened steel mould tool, which opens on a split line (following rapid cooling) to reveal a plastic moulding. Typically used to produce plastic mouldings with low unit costs and tolerances which cannot be achieved by other moulding processes.

Two shot injection moulding is the ability to produce complex mouldings from two different polymers at the same time during one machine cycle, creating mouldings with more than one colour or material. Taking advantage of these elements allows designers to create complicated mouldings very easily, with a high level of accuracy.
