For the past 23 years we have been proud to host the annual Rickmansworth Open where people come from all the country to compete. The information on the history of RLTC comes from committee minute meeting books and other records held in the club's archive. These records which extend over a period of 80 years have been combined by a diligent and determined researcher, Noel Kent, chairman 1983-88 and president from 1992.
Alan Jamieson wrote and edited it, making sure that the words were in their correct sequence. Teresa Clarke designed it and Brian Harding was responsible for the print production. For the first time in our 94-year history, RLTC will shortly be inviting companies to sponsor our club. Of people living in Rickmansworth 75% of working people are classified as "professional" i.e.

Services
Rickmansworth LTC promotes a friendly and encouraging atmosphere for players of all ages and abilities. We have 450 members including 220 junior players. Our club has 24 teams ranging from Under 8 to Over 65s who participate in the Watford & District League and AEGON & Herts Summer/Winter leagues. Any non-member can be invited by a Club member to play with them.
Our Holiday camps are great fun and are a great way of accelerating tennis learning. These squad sessions are about having fun, making friends and being active while getting a lot better at tennis. RLTC members and non members can book tennis camps for their children. People who improve the most tend to be those who attend all days.
Our coaching team caters for all ages, abilities and experience, and aims to help all players enjoy tennis and reach their potential. There is a comprehensive program of squads for juniors, starting with mini tennis red and ranging right up to our Platinum squads for our best juniors. Progression through the squads is partly due to age, but also ability and attitude, and our coaches will move you along the program to benefit your development.
We are also pleased to announce that this year we will be holding a pot-luck doubles tournament through the Winter. Once you let us know which categories you would like to enter, we will throw your names into the hat. Many visitors to our club have remarked upon the traditional clubhouse and once inside this is further complimented by the high-standard and modern facilities which include a fully fitted & licensed bar.

Despite the sign at the front saying 'new members welcome' I have never felt more unwelcome in my entire life. The head coach was rude and unhelpful, he and his colleague had to confer about how much they were going to charge me and then continued to say you can't just turn up and play. "These facilities don't pay for themselves" were his exact words, after charging me £8.00 to play for an hour! I am now going to become a member elsewhere and would recommend anyone else thinking about joining to do the same.
