Philip Serrell Auctioneers has been established as one of Worcestershire's premier independent auction houses since 1995, and experienced in the area for some 40 years. Whilst the main area of practice covers the whole of Middle England and the Welsh Borders, the reputation of the company now extends nationally and internationally.
Services
Philip has now been an auctioneer for over 30 years. After completing a Bsc at Loughborough University, he actually started his working life as a P.E. and Geography teacher. However after realising this was most definitely not the career for him, he began to pursue auctioneering. His first job saw him cleaning out the cattle pens at a local livestock market, working for the Bromyard based firm Bentley Hobbs and Mytton.
Philip has over 40 years experience in the world of antiques, fine art and auctioneering. A self confessed 'failed' Geography teacher, Philip entered the world of antiques and fine art when he joined a firm of local estate agents and cattle auctioneers. Finding his interest piqued in the eccentricity of the provincial auction world, he followed a path which led him to buy his current saleroom and business.
For a free, no obligation, saleroom estimate on items prior to entering them into one of our auctions, you are welcome to bring them to our valuation days. We are happy to look at emailed images of larger items, and large pieces of furniture. Philip Serrell Auctioneers and Valuers Ltd is a member of Propertymark's Client Money Protection (CMP) Scheme.
For free, no obligation, saleroom estimates on items you may be considering selling, you are welcome to make an appointment to bring them to our Malvern Saleroom on one of our valuation days. As these acceptance days are by appointment, please call the saleroom on 01684 892314 or email auctions@serrell.co.uk to book a convenient time.
Philip Serrell Auctioneers offer a full range of valuation services, both verbal (informal) and written (formal). All such valuations form a core part of our business and are usually conducted by Philip Serrell or an experienced member of staff. We provide a professional valuation service for private clients, solicitors and professional advisers.

Bid £30 live on line via easylive, the bid was initially accepted, then about 3 seconds later the bid was rejected and the item eventually sold to the room for £30.
Shill bidding? Who knows. Strange how when you bid it's legally binding but on their side it appears to be a choice.
On a positive note I decided to can all other lots I was planning to bid on in this auction so at least I have the pleasure of knowing they did not profit from me.
I would never use this auction house again.

This was the worst auction I have ever attended! It was a jumble sale and most items should have been taken to the tip.. broken items and total junk! The toilet facilities were disgraceful and they should use some of the 22% buyers premium on a cleaner and some bleach.. the only positive was the Parsnip soup 🥣
