Very dissappointed. I was highly recommended an expensive substrate that was supposed to be the best and the chap appeared to know all about aquascapes. Turns out the substrate is god awful. It was pre washed but with good filtration any movement makes the water look like milk. And to add I was over charged. 75 quid for three bags and I could of gotten it for less than 60. Not happy. The substrate ruins the look of the tank as when it finally settles it makes everything look dusty. You can't even plant in it as it's so course. I was told this was perfect for a planted aquarium. This is a great place with a fantastic selection of bits. Only 4* because at times it can be hard to find someone available to help at times but that is only because they are busy helping others (so not necessarily a bad thing, worth the wait!).

Excellent place! I have been looking for a hang-on-the-back filter for absolutely ages. I know I can get one online so easy but always preferred to support Real people and real shops. I have tried so many places... only a trip way out to Amwell Aquatics did the trick. They have a huge range of goods: with a lot of less commonly available stuff too.

Fantastic shop highly recommended, we travelled from Huntingdon, as our local shop maidenhead aquatics in Huntingdon is terrible the staff was rude so we walked out buying nothing and won't ever return.
we came across this store online and made the journey to Ely, glad we did as it stocks a massive selection, if they don't have what your looking… for then I'd be very surprised. the staff are friendly, helpful and gave some great advice.
returned back today 19/10 to buy more gravel they didn't have the same as previously brought in the bigger bag but the manager gave discount on the smaller

I’ve visited today when I arrived I was welcomed nicely .and looking round the store there was so much to look at and take in so asking a member of staff for some advice he spent plenty of time with us and explained so much to us on wot sort of fish to mix and ones not to and some great advice on on products best I’ve been to defo be back cheers fellas 👌👌👌

This is the place to go for anything fish related or for any reptile requisites. The selection of fish and fish related products are endless that is matched by the reptiles for sale and reptile products. The staff are friendly and have a wealth of knowledge. The car park is loose stones with a concrete area by the doorway for disabled access so make sure you can park here if your in a wheelchair as the going is tough on the stones. Entrance is level with enough space to get around in a wheelchair however there is only stairs to access the upper level where the reptiles are kept.
