Proud to be an independent jeweller, Lance James was first established in 1997 and is situated in the heart of the busy Essex town of Chelmsford. With almost 24 years experience of creating bespoke jewellery, you will find that traditional jewellery skills are at the heart of our business. A viewing window from our retail space into our workshop means our customers can witness qualified jewellers at work.

We can also provide valuation services in store with our very own IRV Valuer and GIA Gemmologist. In addition to the bespoke side of the business, Lance James showcases silver designers including Chlobo, Daisy London, Unique Jewellery and many more, providing the perfect gift for every occasion.

We found out about Lance James at a wedding fayre in Ipswich. We loved that their rings were very different to other jewellers on the highstreet. We had a pleasant experience at the Chelmsford store, they were very attentive and patient whilst we went through the process of trying all of the rings in the shop!! Both myself and my husband bought our rings from the store with a great turnaround and we love the quality and finish of our rings! Thank you for looking after us and making our day special!

Absolutely fantastic jewellers. I went in on Saturday to get a necklace repaired and they fixed it there and then. Really impressed and the repair was so straight forward I was asked to just put £5 in a charity pot of my choosing. Will return!

The staff team at Lance James are exceptional in terms of customer service and knowledge in relation to jewellery design and gemstones. My original wedding band (not from Lance James) had issues where the stones keep falling out. I later inherited my grandmother’s ring and wanted to wear this with my wedding band. Lance helped me design an adaptation to the wedding band using the original stones that would fit perfectly with the inherited ring.
