Cotswold Bowls Club celebrates its 50th. Anniversary in 2018. We have come a long way over the years and can now boast one of the best Bowls facilities in Gloucestershire. We are proud to open our doors to prospective members of all ages, abilities and agilities - from juniors to grandparents, from beginners to national level players.
The game of bowls goes back many centuries and was once known as 'The Game of Kings'. It got that title as a result of a Royal Decree in 1319 by King Charles IV, prohibiting the game from being played by commoners, as archery, essential to the defence of the country, was being neglected. From that point on the game was restricted to Kings and Noblemen only.
Our bowls club offers easy access for on site car parking for members and visiting teams, including space for coaches. Our playing facilities include 6 indoor rinks, a large outdoor green that can be floodlit and can accommodate 6 rinks. We have a large conservatory which enjoys a panoramic view of our outdoor green.
Our official indoor season runs from September to April, though indoor bowls continues on a more casual basis throughout the summer months, and includes a Wednesday evening triples league. We run a wide range of internal leagues through the season as well as friendly matches (home and away), club 'roll ups', internal club competitions and rink time for practice sessions.
As a consequence the management structure was reorganised into a Board of Directors, consisting of eight Directors, each responsible for some aspect of the running of the club. Each Director will be elected for a three year term of office, however, as we are in a transitional phase the current Directorate are on split terms of one, two and three year terms.

This is okay but is very simple. A great place for a cheap treat for your family. There are arcade games and a cafe for the kids to enjoy and great bowling for everyone. On some ocasions the bowling team will turn of the lights and do discos as you bowl. This is a good pace for families as it's centered around a shopping mall ( quite small ) but has a sweet shop and many shops to buy your needs.
