Dave and Sandra Benson established the business in 1981 selling knitting machines, accessories and yarn. Initially they sold some overlockers. They gradually moved into sewing machines and fabrics after Sandra completed a City and Guilds course in Patchwork and Quilting. Today the shop is devoted to sewing, patchwork and quilting and there are no knitting machines or yarns in sight.

Services
These beginner's classes cover the very basics of machine sewing. You will start by learning about machine maintenance, needles, threads and accessories, the balanced stitch, essential sewing tools and utility stitches. You will then cover applique and making a small project. Fabrics are included. For this bag you will use applique and free embroidery techniques - or you can just make a plain bag.
Our prices are competitive but we do not compete with on-line / internet prices as we offer more than just packing you off with a box. We give after sales service and basic sewing machine and overlocker classes with every machine sold. We are main dealers for Pfaff and Brother and sell a wide range of their sewing machines and overlockers.

This shop and staff are wonderful. Nothing is too much trouble. I visit when we are on holiday 3 times a year and they remember me, which means that every customer is valued. Thank you very much. The choice of fabrics are varied and reasonably priced, sewing machines on sale here and sewing workshops/classes.
