At Tewkesbury Museum we believe in Children having a fun museum experience. There are old fashioned Toys to play with. Colouring and Drawing, Dressing-up clothes and even a box of wooden building bricks for the very young. We have a very special Mouse Hunt for all ages with a prize for anyone who finds all the mice hiding in the Museum.
The Museum's collection holds objects, images and archives relating to Tewkesbury and its immediate surrounding areas from all periods of history, pre-historic to the present day. Every item we acquire for our collection is of relevance to the history of Tewkesbury and through our collection we tell and interpret the history of the town, its people, trades, buildings, institutions and of course, its battle.
On view also are the maquettes (models) which were the initial designs for the 'Arrivall' commemorative sculpture which graces the Stonehills roundabout on the town's southern boundary. The story of the Battle of Tewkesbury is complicated and hidden by legend. Our display tries to tell the story in a straightforward way, describe some of the context of the battle and the part it has played in the story of Tewkesbury.

Really enjoyed the king's and queens flip book, so easy to read and move through quickly.
Also the person on duty today was very personable and not a bit fased that I had actually become so engrossed that I overstayed my visit by 30mins after closing time so a very enjoyable visit to your free museum. So thank you for a pleasant time.
