Services
In 1994 an Italian gentlemen established a delicatessen in the lower side of Macclesfield not knowing that in 1900 one was established there previously. With a background in catering from an early age and an Italian flair it quickly established itself as a fabulous traditional food emporium. The business changed hands in 1998 and with help and advice and determination has carried on in the same professional way ever since.
We pride ourselves on having one of the most comprehensive deli ranges in the whole of Macclesfield. From our fresh, award-winning pork pies, amazing soft centre scotch eggs, poached salmon to traditional favourites like Bakewell tart, baked lemon cheesecake and a humble custard tart. Don't forget - as all the items in our deli are always fresh and updated on a daily basis, you really do need to pop in to see today's selection.
Pop in for a coffee with friends or enjoy a freshly prepared lunch all within short walking distance of the local town of Macclesfield. We have free Wi Fi for our customers and a seating outside to enjoy your dining experience al fresco. If you require addition items from our deli counter to add or replace on your buffet please advise or enquire.
It's important our sandwiches taste better than everybody else's. To achieve this we have fresh local deliveries every morning and our staff take pride creating (not skimping on the fillings) mouth watering sandwiches, rolls and baps all in house! At the end of each day, we are proud to donate all of our unsold sandwiches to local charities.
At Cheshire Gap deli we can cater for all your catering requirements: christenings, weddings, birthdays and even funeral wakes. We are able to cater at short notice and has the experience of outside catering to "know" what you need. Tell us the occasion, the type of food that your guests will like and let us take care of the rest.

Not impressed, went in today and queued at the counter along with a man and child . Nobody even acknowledged that we were there , shortly the man and child went as did we 2 mins later. An acknowledgement would have been nice and probably meant we would have waited and bought something!

I hate to be this person but honestly, sooooo bad.
Gourmet open BLT with coleslaw and potato salad. No coleslaw and no potato salad. Replaced with a couple of sun dried tomatoes and a mountain of pickled beetroot.
The open gourmet sandwich is literally 2 slices of stale bread laid next to one another; one half with chunky iceberg lettuce, sliced tomato (including end pieces) and mayo, the other half was overcooked, poor quality back bacon on straight up plain sliced bread.
It was so dry and all round unpleasant.
Full price this should’ve been £8.
Take some pride in what you do, especially

Very slow service, food is average at best with above average prices. A shame as they offer a service that isn't in abundance within the town but they let themselves down with the quality.

Went in yesterday for first time ....asked if they had any non diary milk for the drinks and was met with a scowl. No then. Very limited selection which may be down to Covid understandably. Felt grubby at a table inside, service was okay, but wouldn’t recommend the coffee as it tasted like Bisto gravy mixed with engine oil (used) probably won’t go back to be honest, as I do know of better places. I don’t think it would be hard to do this better.

This used to be a super delicatessen with lovely cheeses and meats. Now it's well below average with very limited voice and poor cafe food. Coffee was tepid and weak. Breakfast was on the whole reheated, with burnt toast and an over cooked egg. The potato cake was horrible. Possibly cooked in old oil, or that's what it tasted like to us. Service was average at best. No condiments offered, no question on whether we enjoyed the meal (good job, too!). Summary... Won't be going back again, that's for sure.

Very nice place, great staff and the food tasted as good as it looked. I had a goats cheese, ham and chutney sandwich which was very perfect, topped off with a cherry flapjack... I could have had 20 more! I'll be back to try their pies and other cakes soon, they look too good to miss.

Let'e be clear here, I used to love this deli and it sells some great stuff, Over the years I've ordered platters of sandwiches and bought loads of stuff. However, if it says online that you close at 5pm I suggest when I enter your shop at 4.50pm you refrain from telling me that you're closed or change advertised times.
Since Don Miller's closed (RIP) I need a new bread supplier, I buy bread at the end of the day that & effectively take what isn't sold. The rather large white haired rude elderly man if in charge needs to brush up on his personal skills or RETIRE.

Very dirty. Poor quality food. Long waits on food. Slow service. Staff were very pleasant though. This place Has some very serious issues with cleanliness of eating area and the deli counters that contain food, bread and cakes had old crumbs that were quite clearly there for some time. Unable to eat our food as the quality was that bad. Needs to close for a short while and undertake a serious deep clean. Nice furnishings though

Lovely cakes and pies. Quite a lot of fresh food options and everything you'd expect at a deli. Very quirky decor and staff were friendly and helpful. I had a coffee and cake and sat in. There's a few tables inside and out, I thought prices were quite reasonable.

I've just missed my train home from Macclesfield at lunchtime so decided to go for a walk around the town in search of a tasty morsel. The only suggestion Google maps had to offer was Subway which I'm not a major fan of but not knowing the area, I headed in that direction in the hope of coming across somewhere better on the way. I'm very happy to have stumbled upon The Speckled Hen Cafe at the Cheshire Gap Deli!
From outside the Cheshire Gap Deli has a mouthwatering array of handmade cakes and pastries in the window and the seating area of the Speckled Hen Cafe looks homely and inviting. Once

I popped in here one lunch time after having passed this place many a time whilst en route to the centre. It's always looked busy with people either sitting outside or queuing at the counter.

You can have a flavour of what they have to offer through the window display, as favourites are written on the window.

When I walked into the deli I found a massive selection of products: cheeses, meats, pies, pastries, antipasti. I was really impressed by the variety of food on offer, both local from further afield.

I ordered an Italian chicken bap, on seeded bread and it was really top notch. The
