Based in Chorlton, Manchester, I provide a restoration and repair service for English, French, German, American and most clocks pre and post 1900. I have many satisfied customers throughout the UK and some in Europe and the USA. I am also one of only a handful of Horologists in the UK specialising in repairing American Pocket Watches.
I have thousands of parts for antique Waltham and Elgin pocket watches, and many parts for Hamilton, Illinois, South Bend, Hampden and others. The antique world is enjoying a particularly high level of growth today and is set to boom in the next few years, therefore valuable antiques such as clocks require sympathetic and expert attention if they are to retain or increase their value and be an heirloom or worthy centrepiece of any collection.

Services
Whether its simply a clock that has stopped or has become unreliable, keeps poor time, doesn't strike or even wind, give me a call I can help. All clocks require servicing at least every 5 years and fully stripping down every 10 years. If this isn't done the oil dries out and the congealed remains mix with dust and metal particles to form a very effective grinding paste.
As you can see the case was in a very distressed state. The French polish had almost completely disintegrated, most of the brass inlay and ornamental fittings were corroded. Most of the decorative trims were either broken or missing and the bezel hinge was so weak it couldn't support the glass when it was opened.
