In 2009 Dave Dickinson was a professional drummer and owner of a drum store in London. After installing a commercial coffee machine in his shop the drum-buyers soon became outnumbered by coffee lovers. Eventually the drums were moved out to make way for the first Ground caf, and a passion to spread the message of amazing coffee began.
We work closely with our wholesale partners to understand their requirements and tailor our service according to their unique needs. You can be assured if you choose Ground that we will work with you to deliver great coffee all the way from farm to your customer's table. We provide consistently excellent, sustainable coffee.
We are not a 'coffee company' we are a 'coffee society' because we believe how coffee is made and consumed affects us all. We have the privilege of creating a wonderful product that coffee drinkers enjoy and recommend to their friends and families. People love our coffee.
But coffee is an agricultural product, so that flat white you are drinking has an effect on the lives of farmers and coffee farm communities across the world who are facing immense challenges.Naturally we and our customers want assurance that when they purchase from Ground it is safe and sustainable for both the farmers, their communities and the planet.

Very kind staff, cosy place, quite big for a coffee place, beautiful area outside! Coffee is nice, I feel like it could be a bit stronger but I ordered 12oz so not sure how many espresso shots they added.. but taste is really nice! Got lemon cake as well but it's not very good, quite dry.. but definitely a great place to visit!

П“ Location: Close to bus stops and East Putney station where you can get the district line. Conveniently located near the high street, but tucked away enough for some privacy.
☕ Coffee: Really good! I had a cappuccino which tasted pretty great, and they have a variety of options. I found mine a little bit sweet, but it was still great. They also offer different blends.
🥑 Food: I had avocado toast with a boiled egg, which was cooked just how I like it: gooey! 🳠Best avotoast I've had; pretty substantial portion size too. (I felt a bit hipster-y about it, yes.)
💰 Price: Not bad.

Best coffee shop in Putney. Awesome coffee and the prices are quite reasonable for London as well, £2.70 for a standard flat white. Great seating area and the outdoor sundeck is a true hidden gem when the weather is good. Fast wifi, good place to work on a laptop (at least when it's quiet). Be aware that at peak times (Saturday / Sunday morning) it gets pretty packed and there is often a queue, but for good reason!

Popped in for takeaway coffee's, a 6oz flat white and a cappuccino. Outwardly this place screams good coffee, but I was sorely disappointed. Barista skills in this joint are sadly lacking, milk scalded, what I got was two white coffee's. no creamy slick in top of the flat white and no light creamy fluff on the Capa. The coffees flavour was underwhelming and a tiny bit burnt....once past the scalded milk.
I think they need to get the kiwis back, a nation that knows how to make coffee.

Disappointing. New name, new menu, new coffee. The change from "Grind" to "Ground" is subtle from the outside but is so clear once you get to ordering and eating.
Coffee much more bitter, without previous kiwi style (machiatos more like a latte). The brunch menu is standard London fare: eggs, avocado etc, without the previous signature dishes: pancakes with berries, mascapone and bacon, or the kiwi style bacon and egg pie.
The bacon and sausage bap was supposed to come with avovado but it came with hollandaise instead. Wait staff seem confused by new menu, clearly kitchen

Grind Coffee Bar in Putney is the perfect place for a relaxed lunch on a busy day. It is a really nice little place that offers decent coffee and a range of sweet and savoury treats.
One of the things I liked most at Grind Coffee Bar were the big windows. This makes this place a very light coffee shop, quite good if you want to read something and enjoy a great coffee.
My coffee tasted really good, my savoury scone was delicious and the strawberry and something muffin was one of the best muffins I ever had. Fair enough, it is probably always easy to win me over with strawberries...

I wish there are more places like this everywhere in London. I don't discriminate against places like Nero or Costa especially when you're in parts of the city where there isn't much around - they offer pretty standard, know what to expect coffee. Grind is a real hidden gem amongst the lower richmond st locals as I didn't know about this place until I had a working meeting here with one of my colleagues that live close to this place. The place isn't big but if you want to curl up with your laptop (free wi-fi), there are also power plugs against the walls.

The Grind must be one of the top coffee places in London! I can only think about two more that are comparable. It's been long since anywhere around SW you could pop in to your local coffee place and every single time get the perfectly brewed coffee...specially flat whites. We're the regulars and make a special effort every weekend to come in and visit this place. It's not only the coffee that attract us, it's much more, the smiley baristas with a great attitude, yummy Anzac biscuits and the whole atmosphere. It's a busy place these days though, so do expect a wait for

Ever since pointy shoes went out of style, I've had a real tough time getting a decent cup of coffee in London. Grind has come to my rescue.
See, I'm a skinny, angular, Dickensian-looking chap, so pointy shoes really work for me. When they were in a few years back, I greedily filled my closet with them. Then when i fancied a coffee, I'd pull on a pair and trot off down to one of the achingly hip establishments you have to visit to get proper coffee in this town. I'd lounge about with all the other pointily-shod customers and staff, and we'd silently congratulate each other
