Stunning building, it still has a feeling of its time in a good way. Our four poster bed and canopy was beautiful, the service at breakfast was equally as good, we were only there for 2nights there was one waitress who was quite a character, she remembered what tea I wanted and my husband had coffee I was impressed, just a short distance from the promenade, and the shops definitely will be going again

This place is just gorgeous. A real treat. The rooms are very grand in fact the whole place is including the grounds. So impressed. The breakfast was one of the best I've had, everything you could ask for. I loved the relaxed atmosphere you chose your own table tea/coffee arrived almost immediately. Fruit juices cereals couissants selection of breads jams and the best help yourself cooked breakfast I've had. They had some tricky customers but the lady dealt with them Very professional, nothing was too much trouble. Pleasant and helpful staff throughout really enjoyed my stay

Stayed 2 nights for a wedding commitment ceremony, Grange is a lovely setting & good base for exploring further into South Lakes. The hotel is in an elevated position with front facing rooms having serene sea views. There is a refined elegance to the interior & exterior which makes it ideal for weddings or a romantic break. The staff are tireless & hard-working with many characters like Karen, Peter, & Maximillian led by the effortlessly charming Manager Chris, which makes your stay even more memorable. The food was exceptional & of a consistently high standard even when catering for large numbers

Beautiful hotel. Lovely spacious gardens with good seating. We had a superior room on second floor. The rooms were very spacious and we had a sitting room and a lovely bedroom with large 4poster bed. Great views Efrain both windows over the bay.
Lovely bathroom with large shower and roll top bath. Unfortunately there was a strong stagnant water smell that sometimes permeated the other rooms. I think it must come from the bath. The bath is lovely but probably never used as the shower is brilliant!!
Breakfast was really good. Self service with plenty of choices on offer.
Food in the lounge bar

Disappointing.
Never a 4 star hotel - 3 star at best.
Service overall was poor.
Rooms are quite dark.
My son's bathroom didn't have a shower.
The lighting in my bathroom was poor - very difficult to shave without any lighting by the mirror.
Beds are old and very creaky.
Though breakfast was nice, breakfast was winding down by 10am.
You cannot order any food after 8.45pm.
Swimming pool was good.
Overall the whole hotel needs to be renovated and updated to the 21st century.
Would not come back here.

Well, rather a grand affair! No matter how large/ small the room may be, they all, by the look of it, have delusions of grandeur!
Voluminous swathes and drapes of, admittedly, high quality brocade and swagged striped curtains with heavy liners...which rather overpowers any room, particularly the small double size we chose.
The "inner atrium" outlook/ balcony performs it's function well, but an 'outside facing' window would be better as it feels slightly claustrophobic particularly so because of the Voluminous heavy curtaining.
The grounds/setting is great with many heavy duty tables and chairs
