Royal County Down is located in one of the world's most naturally beautiful links settings in the Murlough Nature Reserve. Against the magnificent backdrop of the Mountains of Mourne, the links stretches along the shores of Dundrum Bay, zigzagging back and forth to provide a different vista from virtually every hole.
After your round, why not enjoy a drink in the Murlough Room, which has views of the 18th green, the 10th tee and the Mountains of Mourne. The bar and dining room offer visiting golfers the opportunity to relax in comfort after their round. A menu which includes both light snacks and more substantial meals, all freshly prepared, is available throughout the day, as is the fully licensed bar.

Tough course, a number of blind shots to play from the teeing areas. But golf is a challenge and Royal County Down is a fantastic course that will challenge all parts of your game. Yes indeed another golf course to play in Ireland at least once.
On review after playing RCD a number of times, I say that Royal County Down is the bets course in Ireland. Its tough, exciting challenge and play the course 3 to 5 times in a week and you will have a great time.

By far the best golf course I've played if I could give another star I would. Had the advantage of decent weather but a stiff breeze made it more challenging. One thing to remember is to trust the lines indicated by the marker stones and you won't go far wrong on any of the blind tee shots. The stroke saver will help you if you don't opt for a caddy. Presentation of the course was superb and the greens were immaculate. Was worth every penny.
