The Watersports Academy's RYA training centre is located at the harbour's edge and provides not only first-class tuition but changing facilities with hot showers! Our RYA qualified instructors will build your skills, whether you are a complete beginner, or just require a "refresher" - enabling you to master the essentials of sailing and gain the knowledge and experience these internationally recognised courses provide.
Our luxury Lagoon 44ft Catamaran is an indulgent way to experience our stunning seascape and Jurassic Coast, with just the flutter of sails and lapping of water to tune into. Capable of carrying 10 passengers and two crew, the sense of space is phenomenal. Guests have the opportunity to sit back and relax, or if you prefer to sail, or learn to sail, you can assist the crew at the helm.

Sophie C was a fab instructor and we loved our windsurfing introductory lesson. Sophie was really friendly, helpful and gave us a great first lesson. Booked paddleboarding for 10 people a few weeks beforehand but after we had all paid and been kited out we walked across to pick up our paddleboards and they didn't have enough for all of us. Very poor planning by the Water Sports Academy. Why take bookings if you can't fulfill them. No real apology or offer of refund. Yes kayaking was good but wasn't what we had booked for. I had wanted to try it for so long and was not impressed.

Had a great 2hr lesson with Tam, great instructor and an enthusiasm to get you hooked on a sport he loves. Up on the board within minutes and had me turning in no time at all. Spent most of the sailing around the Harbour honing my new found skills. Great location and staff I was somewhat lucky other people who booked never turned up so got a 1 to 1 private lesson their loss thankyou The Water sports Academy

Thank you all for the most incredible day on the water last Thursday (everyone had the most amazing time!!) from the very start when i first enquired about a booking to keep around 30 people happy (for a whole afternoon which i thought certain to be a challenge!) everyone has been so attentive, helpful and so professional in ensuring the day was really special and memorable in every way. Just got back from kayaking (double). Great location and would highly recommend. Very helpful and friendly staff, prices are reasonable given the location, and an all-round nice, relaxed attitude about the place. Plus the branded clothes they sell are very good quality too. I'd have no qualms about recommending to others.

My girlfriend and I spent two hours of our afternoon with Tam as he taught us how to paddle board.
What a wonderful way to spend the afternoon. Tam was polite and patient with two novices on the water; offering help and advice throughout the lesson and onto the tour.
The equipment was great, the location was perfect, and two hours was enough to try, learn, and gain a little confidence on the water.
We'll definitely be returning for some more lessons, and once confident, equipment hire.

I'm massively I to water sports and have visited centres all over the world. This place is one of the best run I have seen. The staff are super friendly and well trained, the equipment is well maintained and the prices are very fair. They have a cute little cafe where you can chill and the pro shop is not have bad either if you left your favourite rash vest at home. Would highly recommend a wakeboarding session with Hugh whose boat you can charter by the hour.
