Services
The day to day running of Mab's Cross Community Primary School is managed by the Head Teacher, and the strategic direction is overseen by the Governing Body. Governors can be parents, local authority representatives, members of the local community and are joined by the Head Teacher and selected members of staff.
At Mab's Cross Community Primary School, we are ambitious and strive to improve every area of school life, year on year. In order for us to realise our ambitions, we produce a School Improvement Plan to show how we will move the school forward over the coming academic year. This is a lengthy document that has many targets and actions that we will strive to meet.
The fundamental aim of any curriculum is to help children learn. We plan a range a range of experiences to enable pupils to enjoy academic, physical, spiritual, moral, social and cultural activities. Our aim is to enrich their lives and give them the confidence and skills for the future.

We carefully balance the requirements of the national expectations in core subjects with our aims of providing a wider curriculum which inspires children and ensures they make good progress. We feel this is an important life skill, preparing children for secondary school and beyond. Some of our children need to be less reliant on adult support and be able to tackle challenges with a positive mind and develop strategies to do this.
The Early Years Foundation Stage is a vital part of a child's primary education: as it suggests, it is the foundation of any child's learning, and one that must be done well to ensure children can build on their start to school as they move into Year one and beyond. At Mab's Cross we have a dedicated and experienced team of three teachers who each take charge of one of the three reception classes.
At Mab's Cross we try to build a wide range of curricular and extra-curricular experiences to give our students the most memorable primary school journey from reception to year six. This includes trips, visitors and residential visits.

Our curriculum has been designed by our staff with our children at its core, and the experiences chosen to enhance the topics have been carefully selected to enthuse and engage the children as they take part in their imaginative learning projects.
