Compulsory Basic Training (CBT) is a one day motorbike rider course designed to give you the basic skills to ride on the public highway with a 50cc moped if you are over 16 or up to a 125cc motorbike if you are over 17. It's the minimum level of training required. Motorcycle students resident in Newbury, Salisbury, Winchester and Basingstoke regularly choose Andover Rider Training.
The Direct Access Scheme (DAS) is a fully inclusive motorbike rider course aimed at giving you professional tuition to enable you to pass your Module 1 and 2 tests and progress onto riding a bigger motorbike. Courses start in Andover but the majority of instruction takes place in the relevant test locations of Swindon, Lee On The Solent, Newbury and Farnborough.

Services
Established in 1994 Andover Rider Training (ART) has since developed a reputation for being one of the best motorcycle riding schools in the South of England. With exceptional pass rates at all levels from CBT to full A Licence, ART offers a comprehensive range of motorcycle rider training courses tailored to suit your needs and availability.
Passed my Module 1 and 2 first time with James, I cannot recommend this school highly enough. I have now fulfilled a life long aspiration to buy and ride a big bike. Just passed with ART and could not recommend them more highly. John, particularly, has given me the confidence to pass my tests and thoroughly enjoy riding.
The 'A' licence motorcycle rider training course is for people who are 24 years and older, or have held an A2 licence for a minimum of 2 years. It will typically consist of a 4 day course conducted over non-consecutive days, working towards you passing your motorcycle test at the end. Each day lasts approximately 6 hours, during which time we cover roughly 100 miles, giving you over 400 miles in the saddle.
Then our advanced motorcycle rider training is a route to consider. It really would be worthwhile to take a refresher or advanced motorcycling rider course on today's more powerful motorbikes before you take to the open road. These courses are carried out by qualified Instructors, who will be in radio contact with you at all times.

Stuart is the most amazing, patient and chilled dude I could have ever wished for to do my CBT with. He made me feel like nothing was too much trouble and even when I made mistakes he gave me the confidence to learn and do again. Even when I dropped the bike and he was so reassuring and calm. Anyone doing their CBT around the Andover area, I would highly recommend using Stuart. I'm one very happy lady passing my CBT today ♡ Thank you so much ♡

Okay, it's official - Stuart can teach old dogs new tricks. I rocked up to see him a few months back and he turned me from some ageing "hoonster" into a decent rider. Believe me, many would not have taken me on - I was that reckless. So, what's so good about Stuart? Well, firstly, he won't mess around and sugar-coat the feedback if he knows there is something that needs working on. Secondly, you just know that he is a brilliant rider and that whatever he says is God's gospel to biking; it's a respect thing. Then when you go out for a ride the instructions he gives are so clear, so precise and it

I couldn't reccomend these guys enough. Highly professional, experienced, and friendly. I had zero experience riding any form of bike and today I came out with a CBT pass first time. I cant wait to gain some experience now to be ready to book my DAS. Thank you again. A* 10/10. Thank you again for a brilliant day. 😄

I hadn't ridden a bike for 30 years and since living and working in the area and commuting regularly between the hospitals I decided to do a CBT.
I was a bit apprehensive because i thought my balance on two wheels would be poor (which it was) but the guys soon sorted that out and by the end of the day I was confident.
I still need more time on a bike before I do my full licence and will be using ART again as I thoroughly enjoyed the whole experience.
Thanks Guys, see you in March.

Having past my test at 17, riding for a year and calling it a day shortly after.. I recently, 6 years on had an urge to get back on a bike. Andover Rider Training provide the 3 hour 'Return to Riding' refresher that I desperately needed! After a shakey start, I walked away feeling empowered to hit the road again! Great staff, quality bikes and training designed and focused on your needs! 10/10
