Lovely large self catering holiday accommodation in Cornwall for up to 17 people. Situated in Churchtown, the centre of St. Agnes village, the Porthvean provides all you would expect for a comfortable and relaxing stay by the sea. The building itself is old - it was the White Hart over 200 years ago, with parts of the property about twice that age.
Behind our small private car park (space for 4 or 5 cars) are buildings which are owned by the National Trust. Also at the rear is a decked barbecue area. At the front is a small terrace, sunny and sheltered, an ideal vantage point for local events such as the Carnival, Flora Dances and Victorian Street Fayre, or just sit with a drink and watch the world go by.

Unspoilt St. Agnes lies on the beautiful stretch of the North Cornwall coastline, right in the heart of Poldark Country. The rugged cliffs and coves of this Atlantic coast provide a marked contrast to the gentler shores of the English Channel to the South.
As an important centre of the tin mining industry, St. Agnes prospered well into the twentieth century and the ruins of old mine buildings and engine houses abound, giving the village its unique charm.More information regarding local history can be found in the small museum. Trevaunance Cove, a 15 minute walk from the Porthvean, is sandy and sheltered, ideal for the family with its beach shop, pub and caf.

Self catering rental of the whole house for up to 17 people (plus two cots if needed) including bed linen, towels (not beach towels) and all necessary light, heat and power. Prices range from 2250 for a short break off season to 4850 for a week at high season - so if you fill the house then the "per head" rate works out at about 40 per person per night - not so bad!
When the house is not rented out as a whole for self catering, then the Porthvean is available on a B&B basis. Generally B&B is not available during school holiday periods unless the house is unexpectedly not taken as a whole. Our six bedrooms are en suite (WC, shower and wash basin) with hair dryers, flat screen TV's with Freeview, tea/coffee making and free WiFi access.
St Agnes is well sign-posted from the main Bodmin to Penzance road, about 3 miles off the A30. On the A30, at Chiverton roundabout (Starbucks opposite) follow signs to St Agnes on the B3277 for about 3 miles. As you enter the village, turn right at the mini roundabout past shops on your right (chemist, Spar & newsagent), Railway Inn on your left.
