Dawn Edney Counselling
I am a senior accredited therapist with BACP and have a background in Psychodynamic Therapy. I often integrate techniques from other practices, such as CBT and Person Centred therapies, to create the most effective programme for both long and short term clients. Alongside my private practice, I have also had many years of experience working in the NHS, GP surgeries, charities and secondary schools.

Previous clients have ranged from people as young as 13 years, through to adults of 92 years of age! I am an approved provider for BUPA, AVIVA and AXA insurance, as well as various EAP providers, should you wish to be referred to me through your GP, employer or health insurance. I work nationally as an accredited supervisor for Interpersonal Psychotherapy, providing supervision for students during their training.
Services
Sometimes we find ourselves less able to deal with the demands of life and need a confidential, safe and secure place to express our thoughts and feelings away from friends and family. In reality, what we say to others can sometimes have a knock-on effect. I can offer a safe and confidential environment to speak about your problems.
I am a BACP accredited supervisor with many years experience delivering supervision privately, in the NHS and in organisations to practitioners from multiple modalities: Psychodynamic, Person Centered, Humanistic, Relational and Integrative. I have experience supervising qualified and trainee therapists working in long and/or short term interventions, young people, adults of all ages and couples.
Sometimes it can be challenging to find both the time for therapy and the time to travel to and from the therapist's office, therefore video link offers a great way of accessing therapy even in a busy schedule or those often working away. You will need a private space where you won't be interrupted or distracted.

I had a series of sessions with Dawn during my marriage break up and divorce. I'm quite reserved so it took me a while to accept that I needed some support and found Dawn really easy to talk to even on the phone when I initially rang to enquire. She helped me to realise that my feelings were normal for my situation, and identified things that I hadn't even acknowledged myself, and gave me back a sense of control over what I did next. I went back for some more sessions around the time of what should have been my wedding anniversary as i could feel my anxiety increasing and again found her so incredibly
