The Minnesota Kali Group is dedicated to the highest levels of training, and individual improvement in the martial arts. Our aim is not just to produce excellent martial artists, but instil a respect and affinity for the cultures that our arts come from, to improve your wellbeing, and help you be a positive influence on other people.
MKG (Minnesota Kali Group) was founded by Rick Faye - an instructor under Dan Inosanto, who in turn was a training partner with Bruce Lee. Over the years, the brand has grown around the world - initially with other schools in the USA, and then into Europe. Rick Faye continues to train under Guro Dan Inosanto, and this knowledge is passed on to the other MKG schools through bi-annual instructor conferences, and regular seminars.
Our curriculum is shaped from the continual development of MKG's founder Guro Rick Faye - who in turn learnt from his teacher, Guro Dan Inosanto. It is from his training with SiJo Bruce Lee that we can be thankful for what has been handed down to us, and the opportunity to experience such a broad range of challenging, yet exciting martial arts!
Every year we host the UK's only annual Rick Faye camp, at Calshot, near Southampton - a 4 day event in May, packed full of training in Kali, Panantukan, Jun Fan Gung Fu, Silat and Muay Thai and more. Guro Faye is the 'founding father' of the international MKG network of schools - beginning with the first school in Minneapolis, USA from 1982.

This annual event is one not to be missed. Four days of the very best instruction from one of the most accomplished martial artist's in the world. Whether you've been training for 20 years or 20 weeks there is a plethora of information and coaching delivered in an engaging fashion that will absolutely inspire and improve individuals as martial… artist's and human beings. Added to this is the fact that you get to meet and train with some extremely accomplished people in an atmosphere that is friendly and politic/ego free. This camp is one of my highlights of the year. As full time martial artists, my wife and I attend many camps, seminars and workshops. The MKGUK Camp has some of the most friendly, fun and talented guys and gals around. We always learn something new and make new friends every year. If you like JKD, Kali and Muay Thai then this is the camp for you. If you like meeting like minded people who train hard and have a great laugh then come and join us next year. 😀

It really was truly amazing to be in the company of Guro Faye and so many incredible Martial artists from all walks of life and with backgrounds in countless different Martial arts styles. To be surrounded by so many people who welcomed us with open arms, infinite patience and good humor made for an incredible weekend. Everyone’s spirits were… always high, the hard work was matched by the amount of fun everyone was having! The friendships forged that weekend through sweat and laughter formed a bond that will continue to grow as we are reunited each year for the next camp. I for one
