The company was founded by Martin Bishop and Mike Coward who's background in fabrication, mechanical and electrical engineering has enabled them to create unique solutions to the problems with existing Rock and Roll beds. After fitting a Rock and Roll bed purchased from a VW show to his own T4, Mike was unhappy with both the performance and general build quality of the bed he had purchased.

We recently ordered an Evolution II from Smartbeds but wanted our own custom upholstery. I cannot fault Smartbeds at all with their support and advice in helping us get our dream bed for our Ford Transit Custom. They were quick to send over fabric sample choices via email and our bed has come back looking stunning.

Smart Beds came to the rescue when I was let down by someone a month before a European roadtrip.
Very quick turnaround. Top class service. I am impressed with the quality of the 3/4 rock and roll bed (evolution 1) I purchased and had fitted by them.
