Buongiorno Italia was established in 1978. We are a multi award winning deli with one of the best deli counters in the South East. Full of great salami, hams, cheese and antipasti. Shelves packed with a fantastic selection of everything you need for an authentic Italian kitchen. Also try our delicious filled ciabattas, pastries and coffees, all served with italian passion.

So imagine the scene, a busy establishment, the air has an aroma of delicious food, the counter is a fantastic display of olives, antipasto, cheese and cured meats, the shelves are bursting with ingredients and authentic groceries, the coffee machine is working overtime and the staff is doing its best to keep up with order for deli boards for people to enjoy on the sundrenched forecourt while the owner greets everyone, most by their first name, so where is this place, Umbria?

Best Sellers Report

We have been selling this salami for nearly 40 years and we won't stop now. From the PO valley it has a wonderful mild flavour seasoned with garlic, black pepper and white wine. We have only been stocking this wonderful blue cheese for just over a year and it has become our best seller by miles. Doesn't sound much does it?

Food to enjoy Report

We have a great selection of toasted ciabattas with original fillings and light lunches which can be taken away or enjoyed in-store or on our sun drenched forecourt. We recommend the Deli Board which has a selection of cured meat, cheese, bread and marinated vegetables, best enjoyed with a glass of wine, or why not try one of our popular Arancini, a delicious Sicilian risotto ball served with a lovely mixed grilled vegetable green salad.

Wow, I got back 20 mins ago and now the fridge is empty again!! We devoured, spicy salami, fresh beef tomato, mozzarella, baguette, humus and olives…….AMAZING…..wht I waited so long to get back, I don’t know

This deli has been established since 1978 so that speaks for itself; to sustain a business for this long you must be doing something right. The team here will help and guide you through any food questions so that you get the best produce for your needs. I enjoy the great selection of salamis and olives especially. They also do lovely cantuccini and pastries to eat on the go if you fancy a quick treat. I needed some double zero flour on my last trip to make pizza. It’s always buzzing with people but service is quick - they’re not slow, just popular so be prepared to queue for 5-10 mins at busy

If I could move from the North West, I certainly would to enjoy the best quality Deli products money can buy! Whenever I visit family in St Albans, I always love buying as much as I can to bring home and gift to family and friends.... Best Italian delicatessen shop in St Albans ! Plenty of choise about different products, cheese and meet, pasta and tomatoes sauces, biscuits....very nice the wine selection for a small shop

Outstanding service today in the shop. Could not have been more helpful and did not kick me out of the shop when I said basil was a no no for pizza sauce. Picked up some emergency frozen pizza doughs in case of homemade disasters. Will be back next week on my weekly trip.

I absolutely adore this place. Blood oranges are wonderful. But the buffalo mozzarella is their golden goose, it's better than any mozzarella I have tried even in Italy.
