If your pet has an emergency during our normal opening hours, please call us on 01642 760 999 and we will advise you what to do next. If you have an emergency when we are closed, please contact our partners Vets Now, Middlesbrough on 01642 961577. Vets Now is the pet equivalent of an accident and emergency service, dedicated to providing pets with access to a vet out of hours.
We believe that nutrition is an important part of keeping pets healthy and can also play a vital part in the treatment of some illnesses. This is why we stock a select range of cat and dog pet food in practice, helping to take the faff out of pet food for our clients by recommending diets that have been scientifically created to provide optimal nutrition, which tastes great!
Adult cats should be wormed twice a year. If your cat is a hunting cat then you should worm your cat every 3 months. There are many different products available and the vet will advise you on which product is best for your cat. It is important for the wellbeing of your cat that an annual booster vaccination is given.
A new kitten is very exciting, although to a first time owner it can be a very anxious time, so we have introduced Kitten Consultations with our Veterinary Nurses. The nurses will help you make the best choices for your gorgeous new addition; they will answer your questions and give you useful tips and advice.

I have had my pets under the care of Derek Copeland since I was ‘12 years old’. That’s my first dog of 13 years, and now my current 2 pups aged 13 and 2 ( there’s been a rabbit and a few hamsters in there as well)
The staff have always shown me care and compassion with my pets and given support and reassurance when I’ve needed.

Always a warm welcome and explain everything before. Then also give u aftercare advice. They are a genuine vets and u feel that when you are in there and they care about the welfare of your pets instead of just money in there pocket I have recommended a lot of people there after they have been fantastic with both my dogs. And the health care plan is fantastic and value for money.

Treatment required is always fully explained in a non patronising way by the Vet. Nurses service are second to none and even though my dogs are reluctant to enter the practice with me, if a nurse takes the lead they are happy to trot through the door they enjoy the fussing so much!!

I had to take my cat in recently I rang explined his symptoms and was given an appointment straight away, the receptionists were friendly and caring, the vet was brilliant, I didn't get her name only young, she thoroughly checked him over and we managed to work out what the issue was , she kept him in for blood tests to check for any internal issues and rang me within 2 hours, he was later discharged bright eyed and bushy tailed again, i would highly recommend

My dog Daisy went in to be spayed , the vet nurses were brilliant , they explained every detail ,lots of reassurance which I needed as I was quite nervous and emotional . The vet nurse phoned after the operation explained what was going to happen and that we could collect Daisy later that afternoon. Overall our experience was positive and i would have no hesitation to recommend this practice .😀😀😀

Elsie, my pooch, had received first class treatment at Copeland. Derek and Scott have ‘rebuilt’ her knees giving her a new lease of life and excellent after care. When she had gastroenteritis recently she was seem immediately and welcomed like an old friend by Scott. The care and enthusiasm, fairness of costs and promptness with insurance documents is much appreciated by myself and Elsie.
