Founded in 1990, we are an independent funeral director with 100 year's experience servicing the Croydon community. Our caring and compassionate funeral directors are highly qualified and will guide and help you through each part of planning a funeral. We take care of every detail to give your loved one a dignified and respectful funeral, as well as supporting you in this difficult time.
The death must be registered with your local registrar who will issue a death certificate. The first step is to contact the GP of the deceased. They can visit and confirm the patient has passed away and issue the medical Certificate of Cause of Death. You can then contact us to make arrangements for taking the deceased to the Chapel of Rest.
Tell the Registrar how many copies of the death certificate you will need. It's advisable to get more than one as different companies may want a certified copy (e.g. insurance companies, credit card companies etc.) Although it can be expensive, additional copies can be provided at a later date if needed.
Making Funeral Arrangements for your loved one can be a difficult and upsetting time. We're here to do all we can to help making arranging a funeral as easy as stress free as possible. As well as our low-cost funeral plans, we can also offer bespoke services unique to the funeral of your loved one and a personalised service.
We understand that the loss of a loved one is an emotional and sometimes stressful time. As a general rule, if someone dies leaving Property in their Sole Name or owned as Tenants in Common, Insurance Policies, Stocks & Shares or has more than certain amounts with one Bank or Building Society, a Grant of Probate is required.

I would gladly recommend Anji and her team at AJ Morris Funeral Directors, for their empathy, sympathy, and professionalism. Having recently looked after me and my family with the arrangements for my sisters funeral, I can say they have complete understanding of the families needs and how to make this difficult time / process a lot more bearable. My personal thanks to Anji, Pippa and Rob on the day who was fantastic in the difficult weather conditions. Never flinching from the duty, and the proper protocols to give my sister the proper respect and send off she deserved. Thank you all, your work

From the moment we had the first meeting the family were greeted in a warm, friendly environment and were made to feel at ease with arranaging all aspects of Dads funeral.
It’s obviously a very distressing time when arranging a funeral for a loved one, but A&J Morriss & Sons showed such a caring, compassionate and understanding attitude that immediately made everyone in the family feel at ease.
