Services
CBT or Compulsory Basic Training is a motorcycle training course that all learner moped and motorcycle riders must complete before they can legally ride on the road. Compulsory Basic Training was introduced in 1990 to help reduce the accident rate amongst young and inexperienced motorcyclists. CBT is an enjoyable motorcycle training course - it's not a 'CBT Test' - and is usually completed over a single day.
This option is open to all riders of 17 years and over, riders 19 years and over have "A2" Direct Access training as an option, riders over 24 years of age also have the full Category "A" Direct Access training available to them. The practical tests will be taken on a bike of between 121cc and 125cc and capable of at least 55 mph (90 kph).

The practical tests will be taken on a bike of at least 395cc with an engine power of at least 33 bhp (25 kW) but not exceeding 46.6 bhp (35 kW). A power to weight ratio not exceeding 0.2kW/kg and not derived from a vehicle of more than double its power.
The Direct Access or DAS Scheme quite simply allows a learner of over 24 years of age to fast track the learning process onto larger more powerful machines. The DAS scheme enables you to train and test on motorcycles of over 53.6 BHP e.g. 600cc. This is by far the most popular DAS Training course we run for clients over 24 years of age.

I have done a bit of riding in the past one a 125 at least a year. When I had my first lesson they were patient with me riding a bigger bike. Completely different going to a 650 from a 125 from handling to speed and weight. I had interactions with 4 different instructors. All were experienced and great communicators. They coached me through mod 1 and mod 2 and I enjoyed every second of it! I sole heartedly reccommend them 100 percent! You want your big bike these guys/gals are the best people to get you there. Thank you so much for getting me ready for my test, being patient with me and going out

First rate school. Kit is excellent for both bikes, and safety gear with full range of sizes. The car park area at theatre clwyd provides great shelter from rain and a good initial course. The instructors are first class. From CBT through to Mod 1 and Mod 2 with a bridge course in between I had Mike, Jo, Andy and Stewart for my lessons, and all made me feel that I could do this providing sound encouragement. I have never previously ridden motorcycles so it was all new to me. There was no pressure and it was at my pace, and each of the instructors brought me on and developed my initial skills. I

Solid instruction. Friendly, professional, honest, and welcoming. Having done CBTs at different places around the UK, I asked a friend to recommend a place to do my DAS training, and I'm so glad I did.
All the instructors are great and can tailor their instruction to you, I learned so much with them, they don't just train you to pass, they train you to be a decent rider. And it's not just excellent on-bike instruction, they're welcoming, and happy to have you in the briefing room for a brew and a chat. Just a great team.

Safe space to learn and practice the basics, working up to a two hour road ride. Andy and Sophie were brilliant, full of knowledge and good tips - also very calm and cool on the road ride, the perfect instructors. Worked with the 2 business owners Bill and Stew previously and have known them both around 25 years and have done a few cbts with them in the past and had a great experience.
Decided to bite the bullet and do my full bike test. I enjoyed every minute and had top notch tuition by Stew and Andy this time. Passed first time on both mod 1 and 2, I would recommend the course and providers to anyone.

The Probike team are amazing and very friendly! I enjoyed the experience two years ago doing my A2 licence and have enjoyed every second again progressing to full category A licence. Special thanks to Bill and Stew for getting me through the Mod 1 and Andy for getting me through the Mod 2. Cannot fault them at all and the customer service is amazing as always (special thanks to Sarah). See you guys soon for a brew!

Great motorbike school. Very friendly and professional staff. Going there you have a feeling like you are more like a friend to them not just a client. They are very flexible to suit to every individual as possible. Highly recommend to everyone. If you want to learn to ride a bike, go there and you definitely will not be disappointed.

As an ex -Traffic Police Officer, I was recommended by my old colleagues to use these guys and girls. How right they were and how happy I am that I listened.
I have done numerous car courses to an extremely high advanced standard and I think I am qualified to give this review.
From the first minute of setting a foot in the door of Probike, all the staff were welcoming, friendly and put me at ease.
The office was busy with customers / students like me but the staff were very attentive and didn't for one minute make you feel like a spare part. I heard them csay to students very often.....'You
