In the early 1960's Larry O'Connell finished his apprenticeship and got a job working for Cartier as their sole engraver on Bond Street. Realising his potential, he opened his own company in 1971, he formed O'Connell's Engravers, in Maddox Street. As the company grew Larry, employed Terry Yardley and soon made him partner to create O'Connell and Yardley engravers.
We are one of very few engravers around who still use traditional methods of hand engraving. This technique has not changed for hundreds of years, carving and cutting away the metal this gives a very deep impression and will last a lifetime. Ideal for precious metals and items which will surely become heirlooms.
At O'Connell's we have vast experience in dealing with leather products of all types. We stock a large selection of fonts in various sizes along with a vast array of coloured foils to suit any product.

I was finding it difficult to find a London engraver who could emboss leather (and not be hugely overpriced). James replied to my email enquiry quickly and in store showed me the different styles.
