LVS is one of the UK's leading injection moulding companies. Our main production area is equipped with 35 moulding machines of various sizes, ranging from 22 tonne to 800 tonnes clamping pressures. These machines are predominantly manufactured by Boy, with the recent additions from Negri Bossi. This provides LVS with the capability to mould shot weights from 0.1 gram to over 4kg's with flexible production runs.
These all have an impact on the quality of a moulded part, either individually or in combination. Below are some common moulding issues, their most common causes and some possible solutions. At LVS Small Plastic Parts, we have the experience to 'design out' these issues before a tool even goes into trial production.
There is more to designing a part than you might think. At LVS Small Plastic Parts, we understand that how a plastic part looks is only one consideration. As part of the design process. It is one thing saying how a part needs to look, we also have to make sure it can be injection moulded. Once formed within the mould tool, components have to be physically ejected or removed by a robot or operator.
