We are located in an enviable position immediately off junction 17 of the M4 and have extensive parking and easy loading / unloading facilities. We want to make buying at Wessex Auctions Rooms very easy and with that in mind we offer a number of ways for you to make a purchase. We welcome all types of buyers to attend our auctions, whether you are at auction every day of the week or are about to make your first visit to experience the buzz of our saleroom.
We want to sell your items! We accept entries for all of our auctions Monday to Friday 9am-5pm with no appointment necessary - just come and see us! We would love to see your items and our valuers are always available to offer free, no obligation advice either at our auction house or by arranging a home visit appointment.
We hold many valuation days both at our auction house and at numerous locations across the country throughout the year. We also offer valuations by appointment in our Bath office on Tuesday's & Wednesday between 10am - 4pm. If you would like to arrange a valuation day at your location please contact us to discuss.
Wessex Auction Rooms offer a discreet, professional and economic house clearance service across Wiltshire, Somerset, Gloucestershire, Bristol, Berkshire and beyond. We are able to assist in all aspects from initial consultation, valuation, collection and sale, through to disposal of unsaleable items and full cleaning of a property in preparation for sale.
We have been holding regular Antiques, Furniture and Collectables Auctions for over 25 years and these have always been very popular and busy auctions. Due to the large number of house clearances and private consignments these auctions always contain a varied mix of interesting and sought-after items.

Can't fault Wessex Auction Rooms at all. Service has been fantastic. I bought online from one of their auctions and everything was so smooth transaction wise and very easy to deal with. Best bit for me was I had bought items that were extremely fragile and the packaging was fantastic, so well wrapped with a lot of care in fact loads of care. Would definitely deal with Wessex Auction Rooms again if suitable items became available. Thank you Wessex Auction Rooms for a fabulous transaction.

I have never purchased from an auction before so I was a bit nervous about how things worked. It was lots of fun watching online. I bought some expensive figurines and the auction house offered postage and packing at a very reasonable price (so reasonable that I was worried they would arrive smashed to pieces!). Very happy .

Having seen at advert for Wessex Auctions in the Wiltshire Times, I contacted them as I had a large collection of Vinyl LPs to sell. Many 1970s rock albums and also a collection of classical records. Martin explained the terms which sounded reasonable. On the day of the auction I watched the bids and was impressed with the way these were handled. The resulting sale was most encouraging with several LPs selling for a large sum. I was kept informed throughout. I was sent a Post Sale advice

Delighted with the service offered by Martin and the team at Wessex Auction Rooms for the sale of my vinyl LP collection. The sale process was very clearly explained. The records were collected promptly and they kept me regularly informed of progress. The end result was more than double what I'd been offered by individual dealers. Highly recommended.

There is a minimum postage charge of £10 which might not seem a lot, but for some items - especially small items like coins or badges - is very expensive. I buy many items from eBay. For a coin or badge sent 1st-class "signed-for" Royal Mail, the postage charge is £2.25; add 75p for an envelope and a bit of cardboard to prevent damage and the maximum postage should be about £3.00 for small items. Royal Mail collect items for 70p each from your home, so I expect there is a much lower rate for business sending dozens of items in the post every week - no need to send a staff member down to the

The in-house postage and packing service is excellent and much much cheaper than the firms most auction houses direct you towards. I bought two ceramic vases (left a maximum bid on-line and hammer was lower so always a good sign) and asked for a postage quote. Within a few days they were delivered by a courier and very professionally packed. Was very impressed and means I can buy from an auction further away than the normal local ones I use. Excellent service - thank you.
