Cookstown Primary
Website
Cookstown Primary School endeavours to offer a curriculum that is balanced, broadly based and which promotes the spiritual, moral, cultural, intellectual and physical development of the pupils. No pupil is debarred from any part of the curriculum on the grounds of sex, handicap or ability. Every effort is made to provide maximum access to the curriculum, through integration, for children who have a physical or learning difficulty.

The school seeks to prepare the pupils for the opportunities, responsibilities and experiences of adult life. It endeavours to maximise the potential of each pupil, to develop self-confidence and independence and to promote a spirit of tolerance towards others. The school provides a caring and trusting atmosphere, in which children and teachers can work happily together.
Services
Within the campus, pupils have access to amazing facilities including gravel and Astroturf hockey pitches, a full size football pitch and athletics tracks, which have helped the school to gain an enviable reputation in the field of sport. The school's own grounds house three large tarmac play areas, which have been marked out for netball, hockey, mini soccer and cycling proficiency.

Over many years Cookstown Primary School has gained a reputation for the high standard of teaching in the basic subjects of Literacy and Numeracy, while providing a broad and balanced curriculum for all pupils. The distribution of time among the learning areas is approximately as follows. Each child is given the opportunity to access the full range of the curriculum and a large staff ensures that specialised subjects are fully covered.
Pastoral care is seen as a vital part of a child's primary schooling with Parents, Teachers, Principal, Board of Governors and Support Services playing an important role. At Cookstown Primary School, we are concerned with the development of the whole child - intellectually, morally, spiritually, culturally and physically.
