Services
The pub has been owned and run by Barbara for more than 25 years. The Cossins family have been farming in the Tarrant Valley for five generations and have their own Rawstar Herd and raise traditional cattle breeds of Aberdeen Angus and Herefords. This wonderful local meat supplies the pub menu and is also available from the family-run butchery & shop in Tarrant Rawston, offering traditional cuts of meat, poultry, seasonal game and sausages.
Relax and unwind in our beautiful outside spaces. We've a peaceful courtyard, children's paly area and a big sunny beer garden that looks out onto green fields. If you are looking for a friendly Bed & Breakfast in the heart of the Dorset countryside, you've come to the right place. The Langton Arms offers six well appointed en-suite bedrooms. All the rooms have been built in rustic brick and are situated around an attractive courtyard to the rear of the pub, separate from the hubbub of the main building.
Try our Tarrant Valley Beef, hung for a minimum of 28 days & then cut by hand. You will find it hard to source any beef that has been more devotedly farmed, butchered and prepared. The taste is truly second to none. Also stocking local Piddle Valley Chicken, Sturminster Newton Lamb and Pork, a range of homemade sausages (including gluten free options).
From Wimborne - Head out on the B3082 towards Blandford. Come through Badbury Rings. When you reach Tarrant Keyneston turn right at The True Lovers Knot. Follow the signs to The Langton Arms along the road all the way through approx. 3 miles until you reach Tarrant Monkton. Take your first left, go over the bridges and follow the road round and you will see The Langton Arms in front of you.

Went for New years eve. Sat near restaurant entrance, new baby and dog next tables. Very bright lights ,cheap serviettes, plastic table cloth. Veg served all together in what looked like a cafe bowl. It was all like school dinners. Tepid ,salty and bag salad leaves. Not impressed. Very abrupt waiter kept asking, "all right" .

Amazing and large portions of locally sourced food from the owners farm and surroundings. The beef cut like butter and twice baked soufflé was a cheesy dream. Highly recommended for high quality English pub food. Very friendly and helpful staff. Dog friendly. Set in charming village. Will be back again :-)

Perfect Wedding
We can not thank The Langton Arms enough for making our wedding day truly magical,it was every thing we had imagined and more. Barbara and her team gave great service throughout the whole day. The food is amazing and the location is spot on. Nothing was to much trouble and the whole day went like clockwork. Our guests were totally over whelmed on how hard the staff work and made everyone feel special We can’t thankyou enough Team Langton

A really lovely find in Tarrant Monkton, very much off the beaten track in the middle of the Dorset countryside. A beautiful setting and a lovely place to sit and enjoy the summer sunshine. We sat on the front terrace of the pub surrounded by tubs of flowers, and enjoyed a coffee and pint of Guinness to wash down a Ploughman’s lunch. Limited lunchtime menu, but the rest of the menu looked great. Mildly pricey, but for the quality and location, it seemed reasonable. We will definitely be visiting again.

Home cooked food at reasonable prices and friendly attentive staff. Dogs not allowed in main restaurant, but OK elsewhere. Outside seating available with wooden tables and benches, but although individually covered it can get a bit chilly if windy. Blankets can be provided. Plenty of parking. The village is quiet and peaceful.
There is a ford to cross if driving from the A354 which can sometimes be difficult to drive through after heavy rain, but this can be avoided by circling the village.
St Rumbolds church next door is worth a visit.
