May I take this chance to welcome you to the Hunslet Carr Primary School website. I am very proud of our school, its history and the achievements of the children. As a team we aim to provide an environment that is safe, caring, stimulating and happy, where all children can develop to the best of their abilities and reach their full potential.
We work hard to ensure our pupils become confident, well balanced individuals that show independence, and are able to become caring members of the community. I firmly believe that Hunslet Carr Primary offers all pupils an excellent education delivered by inspirational, committed teachers, who are supported by highly skilled professional support staff.

Services
Our children learn a breadth of historical knowledge, acquire geographical vocabulary and understanding, develop and apply their skills as historians each year as they move through school. We believe that our children should develop a deepening understanding of the relationship between the past and present, and how history affects us all still today.
The office blocks of Leeds are visible from our classrooms and it is our belief and desire that children from Hunslet Carr Primary School should be able to grow up and be successful within their own city. We want our children to aspire to be the lawyers, doctors and professionals that work in our city every day and to give them experiences to inspire their self-belief.
At Hunslet Carr Primary School we are very fortunate to have a dedicated team of governors who are skilled in their role. We believe that effective school governance is at the centre of a good school and we do all we can to promote and develop our governors through our work across the school. Our governing body consists of fourteen governors, and they serve a term of office for four years although this can be shorter if they wish.
Tree Planting and First Meeting of 2020. The SC were invited to plant trees at Leasowe field by our school governor and Cllr Paul Wray. SC were met by a conservation volunteer who spoke about the climate emergency and what Leeds City Council are doing about it. SC helped plant some tree saplings. They all worked hard as a team and took it in turns to have a go.
Safeguarding children and young people is everyone's responsibility. All staff at Hunslet Carr Primary School and its governors are fully committed to safeguarding its pupils and vulnerable families. The school follows closely the Leeds model policy for Safeguarding and Child Protection. The Governing Board keep these policies under regular review.
