Old world charm in the heart of the village. Flickering Wood fires in winter, sit in the garden by the stream in the summer. Friendly staff, good food good ale.

Have to say this is one of our favourite places to eat. From the minute we arrived the landlord was awesome. He came out as we arrived and we chatted as if we had known each other for years and he is so down to… earth with a great sense of humor. When we got in the other members of staff on duty were also fantastic and friendly. We were given a lovely table for 2 next to a log burner. We ordered oyr favourite which is a bacon joint with triple cooked chips and when it came out we were again blown away by the presentation and quality of the food. All through our visit the landlord and staff

Great place. Pain to park if C/p is full but worth the effort. Food was superb and wholly recommend the mussels. Excellent. Good selection of gin and bar staff were good fun. All mains were on time and beautifully cooked. Recommend this place wherever possible but book early

Visited with friends and family for Sunday Lunch. The Sunday Roast was absolutely 5 Star. My beef was cooked to perfection and so tender. Came with excellent vegetable selection and a bowl full of 'Roasties'. We were all amazed at the quality of the food at very acceptable price. The beer was excellent, and Ian and the team were so hospitable and polite. It was an absolute pleasure to spend our afternoon there. "We'll be back" again and again. Cannot recommennd highly enough.

Staff were friendly, polite and accommodating, they didn't hesitate to change our time to a later one when we couldn't make our original reservation last minute, which in the current climate, I appreciate is very difficult to do. The food was amazing (highly recommended the steak!) So overall couldn't fault it, would 100% visit again!

Wonderful service, ambience and hospitality. The roast beef Sunday lunch today was delicious. This was our first time since moving to the area but certainly won't be our last. It's lovely to seat in a relaxed traditional pub. Although it's a village pub there is ample parking for guest.

Visited here after many many years and was extremely pleased we did.
My partner enjoys a good ale or two and had a choice, which really pleased him.
When we arrived there had been a powercut, but although… rather dark, with a combined effort of torches on mobile phones we managed and laughed about it.
Once Power was finally restored, we ordered our meals and oh my word, they were amazing!
Great quality and value. We had Muscles, steak and ale pie and a mac & cheese. All were delighted.
Service was excellent, and friendly.
Lovely atmosphere and will definitely be returning very soon.

During a week long stay in Combeinteignhead with a big group of friends we went to The Wild Goose about four times because it was close to the house we had rented and because the food was so delicious. The staff are super friendly too. One of them remembered our drinks orders from just one visit, which was really nice.

Loved it. Found it through Google maps and had a Sunday roast. Beautifully cooked meat and the vegetables played an equally excellent part, the puddings are to die for. Dog friendly in the bar area too.
