Fisherground Lodges offer self catering accommodation in the heart of Eskdale, one of the quieter and most beautiful valleys in the Lake District. What is it about this place? The gentle pace of life? The feeling of being at one with nature, with sheep in the fields, buzzards in the sky, and herons on the stream running through the orchard?
The way children can just go out to play, on the rafts? The ease of walking the dog, with all that space around? The miniature railway, the famous 'Ratty', whose steam engines trundle through the farmland? Maybe just the stunning scenery? Whatever it is it's a very real feeling, of peace and tranquillity providing the perfect place to relax on holiday.

Great location for walks and a base to see the surrounding areas. You can catch the lal ratty from here (0 guage railway). We think the weekly costs aren't bad for the area. Pubs are a minimum 20minute walk(that is until the George re-opens which is 5minutes away) most do good food. If you like log cabins(also cottages) give it a try.

Absolutely fantastic place to stay and a wonderful area to see. We visited in autumn and the surroundings were stunning. The lodge itself had everything you needed and more. You can tell the owners have put extra care and attention into these lodges. Very impressed and will definitely be coming back!
