When growing up in the 80's, there was a stigma around wearing spectacles. I knew I needed them to see clearly, but was not too fond of wearing glasses, they just weren't cool. If you have a child in your family, you will be certain to go though the stage of 'I want glasses!' However, the styles of glasses available in most UK opticians in the noughties still wasn't great.

Your eye examination at Station Road lasts 45 minutes and will be conducted with a senior Optometrist. It's so important that we get to know you and your visual needs better, that's why our eye test is longer than the average of 20 minutes. By taking our time we get things right the first time and you don't feel rushed.

Amazing service from start to finish. The attention to detail Deepak gave during my eye assessment was fabulous. Explained everything really throughly to me throughout. Kate then took over in helping me select the right frames for me. I just love them! Nothing was too much trouble and she made me feel completely at ease. Beautiful opticians, lovely staff. Would definitely recommend here for first class service.

I was delighted to discover this gem of an opticians without the usual hassle of having to travel into the city centre. Many unique frames to choose from and I felt confident in Kate’s advice on a style that really suited me - I’ve had many compliments! Brilliant customer service and a comprehensive eye test with Deepak happy to take the time to explain my prescription in detail. Will definitely be returning for sun specs in the new year.

The best Opticians I have ever used in the 35 years since I started wearing glasses. They combine serious optometry expertise with the best selection of frames you can't find anywhere else and super friendly service. The fact they are just down the road and not New York, Paris or Milan is the icing on the cake. Highest possible recommendation!

We were wowed by the window and were not disappointed with our experience at Station Road Opticians! Facing the fact we needed reading glasses we booked easily online and received welcoming messages. The optician was warm and friendly and the appointment was really informative. Then Kate effortlessly picked frames she thought would suit us, so good is she at her job, I think I ended up with the first pair I saw. I cannot recommend Station road opticians enough! My eye test with Deepak was really thorough and he explained everything really well while being very friendly. Then choosing my glasses with Kate was a really lovely experience, I felt she took the time to really help me choose glasses that I loved and would enjoy wearing everyday. Both Deepak and Kate were friendly and attentive. They took the time to speak with me, asking questions to find out my preferences, great service! Really happy with my chosen two pairs of glasses. Was given my eye test straight after the consultation which was free of charge as I had made a purchase. Upon collection of my glasses, Kate was attentive in helping me adjust the fit of my glasses until I was happy.
