Starting at the beginning, after struggling to find stylish and practical workwear, we decided to make our own. That is how we started. When other makers started asking where we had bought our workwear, we made a few for them too, and a few more and a few more.
The Stitch Society grew from our passion for comfortable and durable workwear, a desire to make all our range in the UK from UK manufactured fabrics and a need to create sustainable, durable workwear with minimal impact.This has been our mission from the start and our commitment to this remains as strong today as it ever was.

The Coat is inspired by a vintage lab coat, made in beautifully draping linens and hard wearing cottons, it is the perfect finishing touch to an outfit. Designed and handmade by us in Yorkshire and following our workwear principles of simple, stylish and durable. From our new space in Saltaire, we are now offering Dressmaking classes with Pattern Drafting and Mending classes to follow in the autumn.
