Welcome to Greenwheat a creative flower shop with Fika, which is Swedish for 'a cup of coffee and something delicious'. My name is Laura Tuer, I do the flowers and together with my chef husband Lee, who creates the yummy cakes and baguettes also known as the Fika. We've joined forces for our flower shop in Penrith, Cumbria on the outskirts of the English Lake District.
I have been a fully qualified florist since 2004 and my style has evolved and developed. I enjoy making the most of what's available, using fresh foliages from the Cumbrian countryside and top quality fresh flowers from my suppliers. I can provide floral arrangements for all events including weddings, funerals and christenings and I'm also available for demonstrations, classes and tuition.

We like a personal touch and we believe business should be the same. In our shop you're not just buying a product or a service, you're investing in the local community and building friendships. Just a little bit about me - I've always loved flowers and when I was little I used to make small vases of garden flowers for our family's farmhouse B&B.
Your wedding is one of the most special days of your life and flowers are a very special and personal part of it. I would love to help you on your journey. Everyone's flowers are completely unique to them and having creating flowers for 100's weddings I know that no two are them same. I specialise in a natural, relaxed style but with many years expertise, I am able to create something special whatever your look.
Our skillset is not just wedding based, we range from Special occasion flowers to corporate floristry, funerals and even more. If you can think of a reason to have flowers, we can help. Some of the most common are below but please do contact us for any floristry needs you may have. Even if they're just for your kitchen windowsill or office desk.
If you are in the area you can call in for everything from a fresh Farrers coffee and cake to a light lunch or takeaway baguette with a bunch of fresh flowers for your home. We specialise in vegetarian and special diets including low gluten. Our pop-up-restaurant nights are into their third year and shows no sign of slowing down.
Our Penrith eclectic shop takes its quirky fashion from Nordic Influences and is the host to our Flowers & Fika. Feel free to pop in and see what were up to in our ever changing shop. We also stock Bous handmade candles which are made right here in Penrith. Our opening hours are Monday to Friday 9 am to 3 pm, Saturdays 10 am to 2.30pm and we are closed on Sundays.

We would highly recommend Greenwheat to provide wedding flowers. Laura provided us with the most beautiful bouquets, buttonholes and corsages. We provided Laura with a number of photos of things we liked, and she provided us with flowers that were better than we could imagine. Thank you Laura (and your husband who was always very friendly when we came into the shop).

Laura did an incredible job for our December wedding. She made the bouquet, buttonholes, and decorations to suit us and our wedding better than we could have imagined! She also sourced and decorated willow hoops for our bridesmaids, and a wand for our flower girl (which she loved), which all looked stunning and really unusual.
