Children are at the heart of every decision we make and their well-being and happiness is of utmost importance to us. Our core values of respect, care and potential are reflected through our interactions with all members of our school community, our teaching and learning and our children's behaviour choices.
At Summerfield, our staff are committed to providing our children with a broad and exciting curriculum, enabling children of all ages and abilities to reach their true potential. Our staff, coupled with supportive parents/carers and governors, contribute greatly to the success of our school. We value the partnership between home and school and we have an "open door" policy welcoming parents and carers to communicate with us whenever necessary.

Summerfield Primary School has an inclusive ethos and works in partnership with families and other agencies to provide the best possible educational outcomes for all children. We have high expectations of all our children and put support in place at the earliest possible stage where needed. All SEN provision is overseen and managed by the Core Leadership Team in our school and is co- ordinated by the SENDCo (Miss Caroline Firth).
Summerfield Primary Nursery/ FS1 is a term time Nursery which encourages children from three years old to learn in a play based environment, utilising both indoor and outdoor spaces. We form part of the Foundation Stage unit with Reception / Foundation Stage 2. Through enabling the children to express their ideas and imagination, each child develops their own unique potential within a secure and calm environment.
A warm welcome to Foundation Stage 2 at Summerfield Primary School. This year your child will embark on one of the most important journeys of their life throughout their time in FS2. Our philosophy at Summerfield Primary is to nurture, develop and celebrate each child as an individual.
It is crucial that your child feels happy, safe and develops a positive attitude to learning within their first year at school so they can continue to flourish, embrace the joy of discovery, and acquire the desire to want to find out more in the future. To promote this we create a safe, friendly, and inspiring learning space where children's interests and passions are encouraged and supported.
